We stopped here for afternoon tea whilst on our days wander via bus from Berwick and walk round the island having visited the lovely Castle on a busy sunny / very windy day 9th April and wanted to get away from the crowds and coach parties. It was a lovely refuge with pleasant humourous service from Sean behind his lovely... More

Convenient location, very comfortable accommodation - had a great night's sleep and very good food and the most hospitable and helpful hosts - Sean is a mine of knowledge and a would-be standup comedian to boot

The hotel is a lovely old brick building dating from the early years of last century. The owner is extremely hospitable and very entertaining! Soon after we arrived, we were offered a complimentary cup of coffee - which was welcome after walking to Holy Island by the Pilgrims Way. We were given a map of the island and recommendations of... If you are looking for a friendly and welcoming place to stay, look no further! Sean and Jackie couldn't do enough for us from room-service to the offer of dressing-gowns. My husband was taken ill the night before our departure and again they were most helpful, offering advice and care. Jackie's breakfasts are delicious as are her sandwiches and chips.... More

We booked for one night 2/4/14 but extended to 2 nights. Very warm welcome and lovely atmosphere. Ideal for people looking for a quiet retreat. Excellent value. We missed breakfast the first morning because we overslept, it is that quiet. So glad we had breakfast the second morning. As mentioned in other posts, the poached eggs are to die for.... More

Stayed on 28th March for a one night stay - wish it had been longer. But we plan to return. On arrival you receive a warm hospitable welcome from Sean and Jackie. Whilst he explains all about the hotel and island you can relax with a cuppa. Our room was double with en suite facilities. The whole place is smart,... More

This was our second stay at this little gem, so I won't repeat what I've already written in my previous review. Often when one stumbles across a gem of a place, one wonders if it was just a 'one off' but no - it was every much as enjoyable as the first time. Sean is such an amenable chap, and... More

I have just Spent a winter break at the Linisfarne Hotel, the staff were friendly and very helpful. The rooms were comfortable and clean. A great base to explore the borders from with a warm reception when you arrive back from exploring. I would wholely recommend this hotel as a base for all.

This is a lovely hotel, in a perfect location. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners and we were given the benefit of his knowledge of the island when he suggested a walk off the beaten tourist track to the North of the island. The room was clean, bright and had everything you would want and expect. Breakfast was... More
