Me and my partner spent 3 nights at this lovely inn. We stayed in The Suite which was simply wonderful. Every detail about it had been carefully thought out down to the real milk in the fridge! We ate in the restaurant the three nights we were there and the the food was really good. Service was first class and... More

This Pub is just the place to stay in Nortumberland. The Room was very spacious, very clean ,the large bed was very comfortable & the bathroom similar. We were very well looked after my the owners george & Mary whose attention to detail was most impressive. The Pub area iteslf is very comfortable and the food is good value. An... More

Just returned from our second weekend stay at the Tankerville Arms, Eglingham. George and Mary make one so welcome- suggestions re plans for the day ahead, weather forecast and shopping potential offered where appropriate. Rooms are extremely comfortable and of a good size with bathrobes, luxury toiletries, tea and coffee facilities including water, biscuits and sweets provided. Accommodation is cosy... More

We arrived to lovely warm welcome from George and immediately felt at home. We decided to stay in the suite for two nights which is very large and incorporates a very comfortable bed along with all the creature comforts you could wish for, sky tv, fridge, stereo system, fire place etc. The room and adjoining en suite were both immaculately... We stayed in the suite which was beautiful with a wonderful, big, very comfortable bed. The quaint layout dictated by the beautiful old building housed a lovely en-suite shower-room with rain shower. Mary has truly thought if everything to ensure a 'home from home' experience with some lovely touches such as chocolates and nibbles to go with the fresh coffee... More

This was a delight from the minute we arrived with a warm welcome from George, the owner, who made sure we were comfortably settled before leaving us to unwind on the first night. The room we had was extremely comfortable and very clean, decorated in a French country style. Although this room had a separate bathroom just across the corridor, this... More

We stayed two nights here, and rank this as probably the best of the many hotels and pubs I have stayed in. We were greeted warmly by the owner George who couldn't have done more to make our stay exceptional. He managed to get the blend of attentiveness and helpfulness without being overly so, just spot on. The other staff... More

Very clean, the room was decorated so tastefully and had such wonderful little touches that we had not seen anywhere else..the owner made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The food was perfectly cooked and delicious and the young girls behind the bar were bubbly and attentive. It was lovely to see the locals using the... More

My wife and me chose this Inn for a two night stay largely as a result of the excellent reports on this site but we honestly cannot give it the top marks for the following reasons. Firstly, we don't think the accommodation represents value for money. We booked direct with the owner via email and were offered a DBB rate... More
