Pub and restaurant have a good relaxing atmosphere, nicely decorated country pub environment, looking clean and we'll kept. Staff friendly and owner very hospitable. Had steak very nicely cooked exactly how I ordered it with chunky chips and salad, plenty to fill me up and nicely presented. My wife had salmon which was perfect, really enjoyed it. All real ales... We had dinner in the restaurant recently. The service was good and staff friendly. Starters were fine but the main courses were a little disappointing. My husband had the steak pie which was very nice but served with a very small dish of mash and nothing else. I had the sticky chicken which came on a small bed of rice... More

Just back today from a five night break in the Tankerville Arms. A big thank you to George, Mary and all the staff for their friendly and attentive service. Food was first class; fresh, tasty and always piping hot. Some reviewers have made negative comments on the furnishings and decor but please bear in mind this was originally a coaching... More

We had an evening meal here. The staff are friendly and the place is clean and tidy, but we weren't bowled over. The decor is dated (I don't mean olde-worlde charm, I just mean old-fashioned) and although the food was hot and freshly-cooked it was not very inspiring. On the plus side, the steaks were cooked rare just as we... More

From the moment of arrival and being welcomed by George, this was one of the best short breaks my wife and I have had. The room was very comfortable, we were in the French room which had been very stylishly furnished. The food was excellent and the staff could not have been friendlier nor more accommodating; everything was done with... More

My wife and I have just spent two nights at the Tankerville Arms. George gave us a really good introduction to the property and our room. We chose the French room, one of three at this pub. The fact that the bathroom is separate to the room is really no hardship. I don't ever recall visiting anywhere that has such... More

We visited Hereford Subday lunch which we chose to have in the restaurant (at no extra charge). The food was magnificent: smoked haddock fish cakes with two delicious salads and roast pork with all the trimmings. Unfortunately there was no way I coud fit in a dessert 😞. Excellent beer, delicious coffee and complimentary crusty bread and butter contributed to... More
