My wife and I stayed for one night on Tuesday 26 May 2009: we will not be returning! Our room was clean and basic, but a couple of light bulbs were not working. Normally this isn’t an issue, but having noticed the lack of attention to lighting my wife also noticed that at least one bulb in the restaurant area... more

We didn't actually stay at the Cottage ,we have a caravan nearby and the location of the Cottage is ideal as we can both enjoy a drink without having to use the car. We very rarely eat in the bar when we come here as it gets quite full and the atmosphere in the Harry Hotspur Room is far more... more

I don;t know if the fact that it was Easter Sunday cause confusion and delayed food, but the service really wasn't up to scratch for my liking. Firstly, when ordering drinks, only 1 real ale pump on and no premium lagers. Only bottles at £2.95 a pop. The wine needed to be ordered from the kitchen and took 20 minutes... more

Booked meal well in advance for 9 people, had been about 2 years previous and meal was exceptional - not on this occasion though. Everything about it was below standard, even down to heating - the room was absolutely freezing - Fish was soggy and slimey - Some vegetables overcooked and some under - Lemon in the coke had been... more

We were out on a Sunday drive and the plan was to have lunch in Craster. Everywhere was busy so we decided to head out of Craster and found The Cottage Inn. The surroundings were lovely and there was an adventure playground for the children. We ordered the traditional Sunday beef dinner which was absolutely wonderful. The mashed potatoes were... more

I stayed 3 nights at this Inn and I wish I had found this web-site prior to booking. After a long drive I recived a luke-warm welcome. The room I was given was clean and tidy with a view of the garden - sadly outside was soiled with dog excrement. I only had the one evening meal at the inn... more

Thank you for a pleasant stay, lovely beer garden and treated to an owl chorus one night, delightful. Rooms basic but comfortable, bathrooms could do with a little tlc but not too bad. Food excellent and very popular especially on a Friday evening. Staff friendly and efficient. more

I am sure that this is a nice country pub serving food and offering accommodation, but in my opinion it is not a three star hotel and is over priced. We had booked the stay after viewing the website and on arrival declined the accommodation as not what we wanted or appeared to be of the standard we expected from... more

We stayed here whilst completing the Coasts and Castles bike ride. After hearing great things and being told by the owners that the price hike was due to a major refurb, I was looking forward to a cosy country pub with great food. The setting was great and it certainly looked the part from the oustide, but we were a... more
