We recently stayed here as part of a party of 12. This is our second visit and we found that standards had gone down a bit. The owner was away and had left a family member in charge who obviously did not have the same caring personality! The food was excellent and very well served. Everyone's meal came together so... Stayed here Sunday 2 and Monday 3 March 2014 as part of a group of 16. We had taken up the deal - purchase breakfast (£9.95) and evening meal (£8 - 12) and the room is £5pppn. Rooms are at the rear of the pub overlooking the extensive lawned and wooded grounds, full of snowdrops during our stay. Our room... More

This was our choice for dinner on our first night in the area (the B&B we chose does not offer full board). It was a very quiet monday night in early march, so not a lot of customers and we were offered our choice of a table in the restaurant or the bar. We chose the bar as the restaurant... More

we stayed at the cottage in on a winter break deal - 4 nights, my husband and I & the dog - his first holiday away. We had a lovely stay, the people were friendly, the food was good, the place was clean, lovely grounds and we had a good, quiet nights sleep. I would recommend these deals - great... More

We stayed at the Cottage Inn on a winter break deal. It is the fourth time we have stayed and we always enjoy our weekends here. The accommodation is clean and comfortable, and is in a really peaceful setting. The staff are lovely, and the food is gorgeous, huge portions and excellent quality the breakfasts are also fabulous. There are... More

Thank goodness we'd only booked one night! The bath wasn't clean, the water was tepid and the loo didn't flush, so we had to move rooms. There was no hot water in the new room or bulbs in the light over the bed. The only bayonet ones in the hotel so no spare bulbs! We only had tepid showers the... More

I spent Christmas at the Cottage Inn. The pub was well decorated and the staff were friendly. My room was clean and perfectly adequate although I suffered with the cold when the heating decided to go off a couple of times. I was told a temperamental boiler! Food in the pub was excellent although the portions were enormous - do... More

We recently enjoyed a fantastic week in Northumberland staying at Larch Cottage, a property which adjoins the Cottage Inn. We found the Inn to be truly welcoming after long days exploring this magnificent county and it's stunning coastline. The staff were both warm and friendly whilst the beer and food were excellent during our stay (mid October). Of equal importance... More
