We stayed here for one night on our walk along the Northumbrian Coastal Path. It is a pub in a small hamlet. Our room was basic but was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We even had a proper bath which was great after a full day hiking. We had dinner in the pub which was really good and... More

We stayed for 7 nights in June 2014 and were made very welcome by all the staff. The food was excellent and the room was clean although at times the hot water was a bit cold which was explained by the manager as a number of hikers all arrived and wanted showers at the same time. After half an hour... More

The food was good but the rest was overrated. The room was shabby and in need of a makeover. There was no hot water in the morning either. Nice location in some woodland but that isn't enough to justify staying here

We stayed at Stonecroft B/B and The Cottage was very close.,They had some real ales on and the main bar was very busy. A member of staff found us a table in the Hotspur room.I can truthfully say the Sea Food Monay with fresh veg was a taste sensation. Theres a good selection of vegatarian meals (5). We ate there... My wife and I discovered this 'off the beaten track' Inn on one of our many rambles around Craster. We decided it would be a good venue to try for Sunday lunch. We booked a table and arrived at 1.30pm to find only 4 or 5 tables occupied, we ordered a drink at the bar and were told our table... More

Had lunch here yesterday. Good choice on menu including veggie options. Food well cooked & presented served by friendly efficient waiting staff. Very reasonably priced, normal portions are large so choosing the small option would be a good idea if you want 3 courses or don't have a huge appetite. This place is what it is, a country pub where... More

We had a superb meal, the Kipper Pate was to die for I was so glad I ordered the small fish and chips....my husband had the vegetable soup followed by the large portion of fish and chips....the batter on the fish was so light and the chips were proper jumbo potato chips....this place is a must....

Great lunch from the snack menu. Beef bun must have had nearly a pound of very tender meat in it and the home made crunchy chips are to die for! Haddock Goujons were superb - very fresh firm fish in a light and crispy batter. Staff are friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Prices are very reasonable especially considering the... My wife, daughter and In-laws called by for an evening meal. My mother in law is wheel chair bound, occasionally this can cause "difficulties" for some establishments, not for The staff at the Cottage Inn however. We were welcomed as we entered, the seating was moved to allow my mother in law to easily get to the dining table. The... More

On entering the Cottage inn for the first time we felt a warm and welcoming atmosphere. They had a good range of local Beers. But the best thing about the place is the food, which was fantastic, good quality, and very good value for money. The vegetarian crumble came with potatoes and veg and was very nice. The fish platter was full of local fish and...
