Stopped off for a night here on our Christmas northern break. Food was acceptable, welcome was warm, and most importantly the room was comfortable and we had a good stay. We would stay again if in the area. Recommended especially if a dog owner

Booked in for two nights with our two terriers. A great friendly place to stay with dogs with some lovely walks on the doorstep. The breakfasts set you up for the day and we chose our evening meal from a small menu which was delicious. The emphasise being on quality. The portions are large, there is no need to go... More

I stayed here as part of a sizeable group of (motor) bikers on a long weekend - two nights. This is a small village pub which, having taken due account of its tourist-friendly location, the owners expanded, to provide a restaurant and 10-room accommodation. It works. A friendly, cosy pub, shared with the locals. Good food, prepared by someone who... More

we stayed with our dog in The Cottage Inn for four nights. Excellent room, food good, breakfast and evening meals, and ideal base for walking in Northumberland. Staff very friendly and obliging and the bar is a cosy place to sit during evenings.

Went here for Sunday Lunch and it had excellent food. I had the fish & chips and they were truly the best I have had in a pub. The chips were so delicious; big portions sizes too. The service to was quick and staff were very nice and were well mannered. At least try this place it is worth it.

Excellent accommodation, comfortable rooms, good food, welcoming staff and ideal situation for exploring Northumberland. Restaurant and pub integral, also serve good bar food. Menu is very good and quality of cooking is excellent, perhaps there could be one or two lighter choices on the menu for those who are watching their calories!

Had a good meal but truly loved the fact you can sit in the conservatory with your doggy. One of the nicest dog friendly places to eat. The staff were smashing and couldn't do enough. We eat out once a week but couldn't recommend this places highly enough if you want a special night and want to bring the pooch.
