Set around a very tidy well maintained courtyard our large very spacious room and lounge was very welcoming and a joy to use. Complimentary afternoon tea and scones are a real old traditional treat . Quality of the food was excellent and outstanding value for money. Close to all the the beauty of North Northumberland has to offer and even... More

Everything about this was first class. Nothing was too much even having real coffee at 10.00 in the evening in the guest lounge. Can't praise the staff enough. We had 5 rooms All of which were spacious with large bathrooms and one with a disabled bathroom and beautifully decorated.

If you are expecting a ultra modern hotel, with all mod cons dont come here, this is a coach house, set in a area steeped in history, so come relax and enjoy, the staff are very friendly and the rooms are clean, the water is always very hot, and apart from the pigeons in a morning it is very peaceful... Have just spent three wonderful nights at this wonderful hotel. Jackie Gemma and Yvonne couldn't have been better hostesses. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the food was varied and well presented. Tea and coffee flowed freely throughout the day and there were complimentry cakes and scones every afternoon. Would recommend it to anyone... More

My wife made the booking for two nights B&B with an accessible room. When we arrived there was complementary afternoon tea in the residents' lounge with some delicious chocolate cake and other goodies. Although cars are meant to be off-loaded then moved to the car park, ours was allowed to remain outside the room for easy access. The room was... More

Stayed several times before and had always loved the Coach House so was apprehensive when I found out it had changed hands., it was my first solo trip. I need not have worried., Gemma, Jackie and their mother ensured I had a very enjoyable stay and were friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and I will certainly return later... More

This is definitely not a 4 star guest house, is not worth anywhere near £100 a night, and I don't understand how it got its "Gold Award". Drab, los fashioned, cheap decor. The bathroom was a bit dark and dingy and there was a basket chair with a large suspicious looking stain on it. Shower was difficult to control, though... More

A party of ten, stayed o / n . Everything was wonderful. Even to the extent that one of our group had a Birthday and they presented her with a Birthday Cake. Well done Gemma & Jackie. We found the rooms large and very comfortable , with king size bed, large en suite. Equipped for a disabled person. Coffee and... More

I was very impressed by The Coach House. I was welcomed warmly by Jackie who immediately offered tea and coffee upon my arrival. The staff were extremely warm, friendly and hospitable throughout or stay for a friend's wedding. Very comfortable with a lovely sitting room complete with honesty bar, which proved great for post wedding relaxation. I would recommend this... More
