An ancient hostelry on the main road North from Wooler and only five miles from the Scottish Border at Coldstream, the Blue Bell Inn has proved a reliable eating place for those evenings when one wants someone else to do the cooking. No matter what time of year, restaurant is always busy and booking is almost essential at weekends. The... More

We have been to eat here on numerous occasions and have always found the meal to be excellent and never had any problems like the last review. The staff have always been very helpful and couldn't do enough for you. (We wondered if the last review were one of these customers that were looking for a free meal and drink... More

I visited the Blue Bell back in February, as a treat with my boyfriend for my birthday meal. We live close to Wooler, and in this area there are many places to eat out, but very few places that are worth visiting. Normally we visit the Red Lion at Milfield or the Milan Restaurant in Wooler, both where we get... More

Last meal at Blue Bell wasn't too brill. But that was before and this is now (under new management) What a difference. Had an amazing dinner this weekend. Staff friendly and attentive. Couldn't fault the food. Very, very tasty! Not too pricey either. Will definitely be back.

Staff welcoming, efficient and friendly. Evening meal and breakfast was excellent ( quality and quantity) The bedroom was more than adequate for an overnight stay and mention must be made on how comfortable the bed was and the efficiency of the shower. Both important factors in hotel accommodation. Would certainly recommend to other travellers looking for accommodation in this area.

Arrived to find it fairly busy around 5pm, but managed to get a lovely table near the roaring fire. Service was very good, and the food was freshly prepared and delicious. I had black pudding and bacon stack, lovely roast lamb dinner, and whiskey and orange bread pudding. All delicious! Very nice atmosphere and an excellent menu that catered for... More

My Husband and I were recommended The Blue Bell for our evening meal whilst staying at the Old School House (Tillmouth) and it certainly lived up to the recommendation. We arrived late, full of apologies, for our reservation but it wasn't a problem. Everyone was so pleasant. The menu is extensive and our 3 courses were beautifully prepared. Local produce... More
