Lovely traditional pub, we were made very welcome on arrival, our room was perfect, the en suite clean, shower excellent, bed comfy, hair dryer and fluffy towels. There was also a flat screen tv. We ate in the restaurant where, beautifully cooked home made food was served, breakfast was more than adequate ranging from fresh fruit to full English. The... More

Enjoyed an excellent Sunday lunch, Great attention from staff, who were especially thoughtful in arranging food and seating for a toddler. This was very much appreciated. We very much enjoyed the lovely meal, the courteous service and attention to detail. We will be back, Sue P.

It's a shame to see an untrue and quite frankly vexatious use of a Trip Advisor report. From your report grammar I' m struggling somewhat to be sure it was not written with the assistance of some 'dutch courage' as retrospectively you have decided to dislike spending £50 on your hotel booking, so let me state the matter of fact...... We had dinner here for 6 people. The place was pretty quiet when we arrived at 6, but got busier as the evening went on. We sat in the conservatory, which was nice enough but a little dated. The service was good even with new staff being trained. The only issue was the wait for food. It's nice to feel... More

My family and I visited here mid week at lunch time. No lunch time menu, steak and ale pie was more like left over beef stew with a slab of puff pastry on top full of onions and carrots could not find the steak and could not taste the ale was literally left overs from your granny's kitchen, beer battered... A friendly place that serves quite adequate pub grub. We were greeted well and the service was good. Prices were reasonable for what we got and the menu had plenty of pub grub favourites. We ate here 2 nights running and found that the specials board did not change from one night to the next, pie of the day was... More

We arranged to meet friends we had not seen four forty years and chose to meet here for an early drink and dinner. The guest beers were excellent and the food was equally excellent - the slow braised brisket was delicious and beautifully presented and the staff were very friendly welcoming. All the food was lovely. Do not miss this... More

We stopped off here today by chance ...best decision ever, warm welcome by a lovely polite girl who offered us menus and various areas to sit. After looking at the menu although it looked delicious with a wide variety and choice I was worried there wouldn't be anything I could choose being a colieac sufferer. My partner asked if there... The land lady of our bed-and-breakfast recommended we eat at the Blue Bell. Recommendations from locals are always worth considering. As this one definitely did not disappoint. We had a very warm welcome as we arrived and the group around to the bar created a happy and relaxed atmosphere. The new front of house waiter had lots of time to... More
