A long journey to Coldstream we found this lovely hotel for a drink. A Friendly warm and inviting staff . We will definitely be going back for a meal it looked awesome. The gardens were amazing but too cold to stand around. I think the summer time will bring this hotel into its own. A lovely place.

The Collingwood was booked on our behalf by our shooting host and we could not have been happier to spend our sleeping a dinner hours there. We arrived in gale force winds in the dark and the minute we arrived the staff could not have been more helpful. We had a deluxe suite which over looked the Tweed and my... More

Sorry but I could easily run out of superlatives for this hotel. We stayed on a one night DBB deal and it certainly proved to be value for money. The room was spacious and very well equipped with a large shower and a huge comfortable bed. The service was excellent throughout, not fast but just right. The staff without exception... More

Excellent stay here. One night dinner bread and breakfast, with a glass of wine and a free Molton Brown gift. This was a groupon deal and I have to say probably the best buy ever. The staff very very friendly, the food very week presented and tasty, the room immaculate, the breakfast extreemly good and the cocktails tasty. So glad... More

I don't know why this place chose olive green, battleship grey and light mud for its décor. It really is quite drab. Unlike the food! We had two excellent starters of wild boar ravioli and a crayfish dish. But then they really should be - £8.50 and £9 for "bar menu" starters is steeeep! We followed with fish and chips... More

The Collingwood is our 'local' and we count ourselves most fortunate to have somewhere close to hand which is warm and friendly with excellent food from locally sourced ingredients and real ale. Its history is linked to Collingwood of The Battle of Trafalgar and indeed its rooms are named after ships of Collingwood's section of Nelson's fleet. John and Lindi... More

We recently "took over " the Collingwood Arms for 2 days at New Year to celebrate my birthday and Hogmany .Having made quite a few of the arrangements with Kevin we were a little apprehensive as to whether Stephen would carry them out as planned , Our fears were short lived ,don't compare Stephen to Kevin they are very different... My shooting party made its annual trip - or, rather, pilgrimage - to the Collingwood last week and despite a change in manager earlier in the year (hope all is well Kevin) it managed to maintain the high levels of service we have come to expect. After a warm and friendly welcome from Shona we retired to the bar for... More

Just went here for a lunch and a dinner. Did not stay over. Was really impressed by the service, the decor, the food. For me the thing that sets to apart from the generally OK-ish food in the surrounding area is that the Collingwood is trying to do better. They have the little touches (speciality breads and butters) that do... More

Stayed at this lovely hotel for the first & certainly not the last time last weekend. One of the reasons we chose this was because although dogs are not allowed in the rooms, they have heated secure kennels easily accessible from the main hotel. The staff & service levels were excellent both during evening & breakfast service & we were... More
