Well at the grand age of 50 i decide it was time to tick off another wish off my bucket list. I booked in to a youth hostel my mates thought I had lost the plot ! I arrived at yha at Berwick upon Tweed. I had no idea what to expect. Staff member was young and very welcoming explaining... More

Stayed here for four nights last week and couldn't get over the comfort and value. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The staff were all very helpful and John cooked an excellent breakfast and directed me to Cuthbert's Cave which was a unique place. The self catering facilities were excellent and spacious as was the lounge and dining area. The free unlimited... More

The building is very impressive, as soon as you step into the building you can feel the history of the place. The staff are very helpful and always on hand to offer advice. Rooms are very clean and spacious. Food was excellent and a good menu to choose from. Our Six year old loved the reception, with the retro game... More

This convenient hostel is located in the centre of Berwick-on-Tweed. It's right near the walls and the bridges over the river. There is a grocery shop within walking distance and it's easy to get to trains and buses. The room was very clean, as was the well equipped kitchen. The staff were friendly, and we weren't even charged for towels--very... More

Berwick-upon-tweed is a lovely place to visit and made all the more enjoyable with a stay at YHA Berwick-upon-tweed. The staff are realy friendly and the hostel always clean and tidy. A great place to make new friends and enjoy the lovely town. There are also some great restaurants near by.

We went up to Berwick to see a band at the excellent Kazmiranda Cafe and stayed over in the youth hostel. The location is fantastic, right in the centre of the old town in a converted granary. The facilities are excellent. Rooms range from the large single sex dormitories to various sized family rooms with en-suite facilities. These are typical... More

Housed in a large historic 5 floor Granary building. This YHA is more like a hotel with its ensuite bunk rooms, key cards and annexed family rooms. All kept clean and tidy. It shares this enormous space with a popular bistro, art gallery and community meeting facilities. However, it still has a good self cater kitchen, lounge, dry room and... More

We booked for 2 nights and had a family room for the 5 of us. The location is excellent, very central and near to the waterfront and city walls. The hostel is an old granary building cleverly bought back to life as a modern youth hostel. The room was clean and quiet with good cooking and dining facilities. The cafe... More

Room and bathroom were clean. No TV in room, good. Breakfast was great and dining facilities were adequate. Staff friendly and helpful. Parking could be a bit of an issue with having to move vehicles short distance away during daytime or pay. Great historical town and convenient for Lindisfarne Island too. Well worth a visit, stay a few days, lots... More
