We booked for 42 of us to stay after a sponsored walk. Perfect place to stay. Wish we had booked tea here as we had awful experience in town. Breakfast was brilliant and staff very helpful. Will definately be back but wont be walking the 26 miles to get there next time x

We have been YHA members for many years and when the special offer Green flash sale all bookings to be made in the next 70 hours, we went ahead and booked for two nights....very posh as we booked the en suite room. Really upmarket place including an all day café which locals are welcome to use. We booked breakfast which... More

Love this place. Unique, modern and historical all at once perfectly placed to explore berwick-upon-tweed, Northumberland and Scotland. Rooms were excellent and clean brilliant ensuite. Food availability excellent and a good choice. Kids first yha they're desperate to go again. 👍

The staff were very friendly and well located for the town centre and my grandparents live around the corner. The internet access was very useful and the free wi fi also. They made me a vegetarian breakfast which was cooked well by the chef. There is an art gallery on the second floor called the granary where I got a... More

Until my recent two night stay at the YHA at Berwick, I have never considered staying at a youth hostel, as I thought they were for the under 25's or the not so discerning traveller and would be a bit smelly, grubby and not stylist, or comfortable in the least and certainly not for us over 50's. What a pleasant... More

We stayed in a 6 bed room (£20pp/night) with bunkbeds during a Coasts & Castles cycle ride. Accomodation is very friendly, clean & comfortable... with a great shower. Breakfast good value too. This is my first time in a YHA, and it was a very positive experience. Perfect for activity holiday stop-overs when all you need is a comfortable bed,... More

Stopped in a dormitory room over the Easter weekend for three nights and had a really positive experience. We would have preferred to be in a family room instead of being split up but that wasnt a big negative. The hostel is well positioned right on the quayside and provided with a great place to base ourselves whilst investigating Northumberland.... More

Stayed here for one night as a stop over on route 76 cycle ride. The hostel is full of character being a converted granary. YHA have really made a fantastic job of maintaining the character whilst at the same time providing modern comfortable accommodation. As this is on the cycle route there was a proper lockable storage area for bikes... More

My son and I were looking for a somewhere to spend a night after a long day travelling and this YHA seemed to tick all the boxes. We decided to opt for a twin room with en-suite, and were not disappointed, the room was perfectly adequate for the one night and the ensuite was also excellent. The building is steeped... More

My partner and I stayed for one night in March 2014. We took a private room with en-suite. The room was comfortable, with double bed and single bunk overhead. A small radiator kept it warm. The excellent shower (really a wet room) is separate to the WC and washbasin. After checking-in, access is by electronic key card. The self-catering kitchen... More
