Four of us always go for a break at this time of year and for only the second time in nearly 20 years we ventured into England. The accommodation was first class and if we wanted any help, it was forthcoming very quickly. Heating is by oil and there was no added cost thanks to a very efficient coal fire... More

We had a lovely time pretending to be like something out of Downton Abbey over Christmas. Great to arrive to a tree and decorations sorted as well as the usual thoughtful fire and afternoon tea. Great location for visiting local sights and fantastic view which feels like being in the middle of nowhere. Our oldest son liked feeding the llamas... More

Wonderful warm welcome of a toasty fire and afternoon tea. Beautiful and well equipped cottage complete with decorations for the season making us feel it really was a home from home. Although the weather was not the kindest , the magical coal and log fairy that delivered every night kept us warm and snug. Beds super comfy and furnishings elegant... More

We stayed at West Longridge for two nights in Cheviot. The room was lovely with 3 huge windows and lots of space. There are lovely antiques throughout the house. The dining room has a real log fire , a bay window and a big communal table so that guests can chat. I had a leek and breadcrumb fritter with poached... More

Rarely do you find a place that exceeds your expectations. west Longridge Manor did just that in bucket fulls. From walking through the front door this was clearly a place of style. No expense spared here. Robert, the owner, has achieved something special he has combined grandeur with a warmth and homely feel. We were served tea and home made cake in... More

We spent a fantastic week at West Longridge Manor. Robert was an excellent host and the Manor was comfortable and beautiful. The decor of the rooms matched the spectacular views and the breakfasts were delicious, especially the poached eggs. The area of Northumberland and the Borders is beautiful, with fascinating castles and history. Would recommend this for a wonderful British... More

We stayed at West Longridge Manor on 23rd September, and Luxurious is the word. The house is modern but sumptiously decorated in Georgian style. The house is surrounded with gorgeous countryside views, and plenty of parking is available. Our host, Robert, gave us a warm welcome and led us in to a sitting room where we were served tea and... We have just got back from a two night B&B weekend break in Northumberland. West Longridge Manor is a stone's throw from the main travel routes but a lovely secluded spot. The host Robert is an absolute gem. The facilities are clean, beds difficult to get up from on a morning and the breakfast menu has a very selective choice... More

Visited once again, everything first class. I don't think there is anywhere better! Wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else when visiting Northumberland. Coffee and home made cake on arrival, excellent choices for breakfast and beautiful rooms with REALLY comfortable beds together with beautiful views. Star gazing on a clear night is fabulous too.

Really well kept cottage in a beautiful setting. The children loved feeding the hens and llamas and the view is just miles of countryside. Nice play area and free-range children in the immediate area was great for them. Good location to visit key sites such as Alnwick castle/gardens, holy island and boat trips from sea houses. A lovely welcome from... More
