We stayed in the Red room, which was a beautiful room, tastefully decorated for two nights over New Year. We had the best New Year for many years with a true village experience and a spectacular firework display to welcome the New Year in! The hospitality was so warm and friendly, a true home from home experience. Amanda and Steve... More

This is a real gem of a guest house. From being met at the door by Steve through to leaving several days later, everything was simply wonderful. Steve and Amanda are great hosts, and Amanda sure can cook, so do try to take in an evening meal. The rooms are tastefully decorated with plenty of space and interesting features. It’s... More

We have stayed here 3 or 4 times now, most recently on a very windy gale force weekend in december. The blue room was as comfortable as ever with beautiful white linen on a comfortable large bed. Everything was thought of including a range of teas and cofees, northumberland mead and a delightful bar of chocolate, fresh milk was brought... More

Greeted on arrival by Amanda and a lovely smell of home cooking. The room was out of this world, huge with a lovely ensuite. Everything was immaculate. There were even home made flap jacks in the room. For breakfast I had home made baked beans with pancetta which were delicious. Can't recommend this place highly enough. And the bed was... More

We enjoyed a stay here on the first night of walking the St Oswald's Way We were offered cake on arrival, the room was very comfortable with home made (delicious) flapjacks provided. There was a good breakfast menu and I really enjoyed the savoury French toast.

Booked at short notice through an external site, the owners of this B&B were very welcoming. Our bedrooms were clean, tidy and furnished to a high standard, with very few areas of decor requiring attention. Fresh milk and delicious home-made cake and cereal bars were made available on arrival and breakfast (ordered the night before) was perfectly cooked and full... More

This is a traditional B&B on the market square of a small Northumbrian village just off the A1. Steve and Amanda give a very friendly welcome and good advice on where to eat locally (the White Swan, just down the A1 at Warenford). The excellent breakfast was particular feature of our stay at Market Cross.
