We cannot fault the excellence of this place. Amanda and Steve are most hospitable hosts and provide those extra touches which make Market Cross special. Excellent home cooked cake on arrival, home cooked breakfasts, including Amanda's own baked beans, muesli, marmalade and jams. Lindesfarne Mead or sherry as a nightcap, for those who need one. However the place is so... More

We stayed here for 2 nights earlier this week and everything about the place is just great. A really warm friendly welcome from Steve and Amanda, accompanied by home made cake! We were in the red room which was spacious, beautifully decorated, immaculately clean and well equipped with a really comfortable bed. Breakfast was a delight. Nice choice beyond the... More

We recently spent 5 nights in the BLue Room and had a great time on our short holiday. The room was first class and the en-suite was superb.I have seldom stayed in a cleaner room! The location is ideal for exploring the area with the A1 minutes away and there are many superb places to eat in the area. Nothing... More

My husband & I recently stayed for 4 nights in the Red Room. A very bright, airy and comfortable room with everything you need , tea & coffee making facilities, bottled water, home made flap jacks not to mention the home baked slice of cake on arrival. Other essentials. TV, hairdrier, toiletries and much more made our stay perfect. Amanda... More

me and my husband stayed here for our 1st wedding anniversary. When we arrived we were greeted by Amanda, she gave us a warm and friendly welcome and was very helpful, she offered us a slice of her home baked banana and walnut cake which was delicious. There is also complementary lindisfarne mead and sherry for you to enjoy if... More

Well appointed and comfortable rooms and ideally located for local attractions such as Lindesfarne Priory and the Farne Islands, the latter being a must do trip for the fantastic wildlife. Excellent breakfast menu with plenty of choice. Steve and Amanda are very good hosts. The village ameanities including places to eat are a little basic but can be found within... More

I am not normally one for bed and breakfasts, preferring hotels, however I would certainly reconsider after my stay at Market Cross Guest House. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary so wanted something special. After reading the reviews on trip advisor we decided to book and weren't disappointed. The house itself is beautiful, immaculately clean and perfectly decorated. Amanda and... More

We stayed here on personal reccomendation and good tripadvisor reviews. It was a lovely room with lots of little extras you woudn't expect in a B&B - especially at this price. My only criticism is that the bathroom is very small but perfectly adequate nevertheless. Amanda is a fantastic cook and I would reccomend partaking of the evening meal offered... More

We had never stayed in Northumberland. After reading some excellent reviews on the Market Cross, I booked a room for a couple of nights. We were totally delighted. This facility has to be ranked in the top echelon of B&B’s. The room was large and extremely clean. Breakfasts were great and there is a fine pub just across the street.... More

We used the Market Cross on a walking holiday and it was the perfect stay for two nights. Good rooms and beds with the bonus of coffee making machines and excellent wi-fi. Guest lounge and, if the weather is nice, a garden to sit in.Welcoming helpful hosts, Only drawback is there is nowhere good to eat in the village although... More
