We received a very friendly welcome for a mid week night away. We had our dog with us and all the staff made a fuss of him. Our room (3) was clean and adequate with a small flat screen TV. It was nice and warm and the window opened easily to get some air. Hot water was plentiful. Great English... More

I Agree with all other reviews about the hotel yes it was a little dated on the decor side but it is a old hotel once a old coachhouse and there was a few little niggles like a bedside drawers didnt stay closed and the tv took some working out how to use, and the hot water took a while... More

Yes the decor and standard of diy werent to my standard, but it was clean and had a huge very comfy bed. Yes it was an old hotel and the fittings dated. The tv was only tuned in at b&w, but a new one arrived in about 10 mins and a free drink was offered to compensate. Good value meal, pay... More

The whole place feels like someone has taken an empty, dated hotel and attempted to decorate / furnish with the cheapest available materials and fittings. Little in the décor was in keeping with the period of the building. DIY decorating showed in poor paintwork / papering. The residents lounge could have been a warm lovely and elegant room had it... Stayed three nights. An ideal location for the best of Northumberland but an old hotel which shows it's age as you would expect. The bedroom was what you would expect in an old building but I guess it could have been updated. A four poster was nice unexpected touch. Although there is wifi in the building the walls are so... My wife and I spent two nights here on a living social deal and thought the whole stay was excellent in every way. Firstly, all the staff were very helpful, cheerful and extremely hard working. Secondly, please remember that this is an old building with the quirks that go with that; it definitely is not a sanitised hotel chain-type place.... More

My wife and I were looking for a relaxing short break in Northumberland and the Blue Bell Hotel provided an ideal base. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good although some portions were overly generous for us

Last visit, when the A1 ran through Belford, remember, good food friendly welcome for children, they are now 46/50. This time, pleasant staff ,good food but sadly, like ourselves, a bit old and tired. The by-pass must have taken a tremendous amount of custom from, not only the hotel, but also the Town. Must make every attempt to support more... More

I am not in the habit of writing negative reviews as I tend to hold the opinion that everybody has their own benchmark when they book hotels, We booked two nights on a Living Social deal something we do quite often at various hotels and have in the past always been pleased with our choices. Unfortunately there had to be... More
