We had planned to dine here but the man behind the bar was so utterly rude (not only to us but to other guests too) that we left after one quick drink. He was so rude to some Americans that it was embarrassing. They were overheard to say "it was like Fawlty Towers". Avoid this place at all costs. more

This is an old coaching inn very near the A1, and very convenient for the Northumberland coast, and coastal towns. Our room was very nice, the bed was large & comfortable (although the duvet was too thick), and the room contained all I needed (TV, tea making, even an iron/board!). rooms average clean on arrival, but not very good at changing towels or cleaning the bathroom. Staff friendly, food average , most of it overcooked, only did mashed potatoes!!.Hotel in good location, but overpriced. more
