This is about the 5th time we've stayed here so they must be doing something right !!! Nearly always stay in the winter months when it's available because seems to be very busy during the summer/peak seasons. A little bit chilly on a morning in winter but nothing too bad ( was -8 when were there in January), just take... More

Stayed here for 2 nights and cant compliment Andy and Linda enough. The room was clean and smart and breakfast good. Its well located in Beadnell and central for touring around. Amazing value. Within 15 minutes either side of Holy Island and Alwick

At short notice we took a short break to Northumberland after many years of saying we would go. As we have a a young baby, it was a great place to visit with vast beaches, amazing castles, holy island and a couple of good pubs/restaurants in the locality of the B&B. The B&B itself was lovely, the owners were very... More

My husband and I and our little dog have just returned from a two night stay for our wedding anniversary. We felt very welcome. Room clean and comfy. Breakfast very good and we will be back soon! We would definately recommend. Great value and great base to explore beautiful Northumberland!

We were on a road trip and were looking for cheaper B&B accommodation as we travelled south. The Hemmel is in a perfect spot for Holy island, bamburgh, seahouses and Alnwick isn't far away. Welcome was great, but the shower unit is in the bedroom, so if you are on a first date be warned. The furnishings were a bit... More

Spent a night here for a wedding we were attending at Newton Hall, Owners are lovely people and made us feel extremely welcome, they have a black lab who is very well behaved, they even offered to drive us back to the wedding venue the next day to get our car which i thought was very nice of them. Breakfast... More

Booking was straight forward. Upon arrival we met the owner Alan, who was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Full english breakfast provided was excellent, freshly cooked and tasty. Cereals were available as an alternative option. Our room was as described, very clean and checked and maintained daily with fresh towels provided. The view from the window was wonderful,... More

Great location near to the sea. Breakfast only average. Nice friendly owners. The room was cold, damp even and I couldn't turn on the heating in the room or bathroom as I think it was controlled by the owners. The bed was comfortable but damp, and I had to air the clothes I had put in the wardrobe when i... More

Positives....Stayed in large family room. Plenty of space. Patio outside and view of horses in next field. Friendly couple. Great location. Negatives....room not very clean, furniture falling apart, creaky bed, quite cold, shower ensuite stank of mould very badly (reviews from 2012 seem to also state this!). Very average and small breakfast- microwaved scrambled eggs not impressive. Not worth £80 a night... More
