My son and I stayed at The Sunningdale for 1 night on 15 August when on a long weekend break in Northumberland. He lives in Japan so we try to make the most of his rare visits home and were joining my daughter and her partner for a few days. Sadly, the hotel was fully booked the following 2 nights... More

Stayed one night with partner and 7 year old. Great location and nice bright room- at the top of the house so lovely view. Couple of things- shower support was sort of broken so the shower kept falling off the wall (!) and one of the bedside lights wasn't working but hey ho. I would have told someone at the... More

Although it was late last summer when I stayed here for some reason I did not put on a review. Anyway, suffice to say it is a great place with a brilliant breakfast on offer. All freshly cooked and locally sourced. Very friendly and welcoming owners. I am visiting again this month and looking at the reviews it sounds better... More

We stayed here for 4 nights as our son was getting married in Bamburgh. On the Friday and Saturday nights the hotel was pretty much taken over with our family and friends. Our room was on the top floor and had a lovely view of the church where the ceremony took place and the sea beyond. The room we had... More

The Sunningdale is situated in the village centre about a quarter of a mile from the castle and beach. Limited parking spaces are available at the side of the property but if these are full street parking spaces are plentiful. As a solo traveller I'm used to getting a pokey little room, but this wasn't the case at the Sunningdale.... More

Once again it was the Sunningdale this year and what a wise choice it was. The warm welcome by Paul was followed by some "out of this world" food accompanied by flawless service. The room was just perfect; a deluxe room with the front bay window. Nice and bright and importantly very very clean. The bed was comfortable inducing a... More

My family and I have recently got back from a 4 night stay at the sunningdale and had the most amazing time. Location is perfect, just a short walk to the beach where we spent most of our days. We stayed in a newly refurbished family room which we loved, great decor, spacious, clean and really comfortable beds...cant remember the last... More

We visited the Sunningdale again this year, it is now my 14th visit in as many years. Paul gave us a warm welcome and as ever the food and service were brilliant. I stayed in Room 20 again, which is the deluxe room with the front bay window. The bed is delightfully comfy and the breakfast was a fantastic way... More

Dear 621catherineB, When we tell some guests that we accept school parties a few pull a rather shocked and surprised face. This school is one of the reasons we continue with accepting school groups. The children are always well behaved and polite. The Teachers.... Hmmmmm Have their moments. A wonderful school. Thank you for your kind words and we look... More

Unfortunately it has been a while since last visiting the sunningdale and boy have we missed it! The breakfast service has improved, the bedrooms have improved, the food has improved and bamburgh is just as beautiful as we remember! The despite the gap in our regular visits we were still greeted with the warmest of welcomes from the owners and... More
