This "hotel" is in a lovely village, with its stunning castle dominating the views. The hotel is short-staffed and poorly run. The room was badly designed, cramped and poor value to boot. Dinner in the so-called Italian eaterie was like a school meal in terms of food qulaity; service staff did their best. Breakfast alo mediocre. Not recommeded more

I live in Newcastle but often go for trips and overnight stays in Northumberland, particularly the coast. I have been to this hotel before so was looking forward to going back… I wasn’t disappointed! The staff are all very friendly. The food was freshly made and sourced locally. I try to see as much of Northumberland as I can but... more

Stayed here 4 nights in November, out of season but still had a warm welcome. Room and restaurant were both great and the location just can't be beaten. I'll be back! more

We stayed at this beautiful quite Contemporary hotel as part of a 4 day tour and I must say the hotel is very clean and modern with a good location for Bamburgh Castle. The staff however did seem as if they were there because they have to be for a job and the bar meals were fine if you enjoy... more

This is a comfortable cosy Hotel with good food and fairly priced, situated in close proximity to Bamburgh Castle which was well worth visiting. We had no complaints and found everything to our complete satisfaction We stayed in the Forster Suite more

We have just stayed at the Lord Crewe for an annual re-union of 5 couples, all ex-Bank Managers and wives! We have stayed at places all round the country and rate this hotel as probably the best value for money. I organised it and found that this hotel like most others in the area had mixed reviews on Trip Advisor.... more

We stayed in a local cottage and were looking for bar meals in the area. We saw a sign outside of the Lord Crewe for Forsters Bar. It looked ok but as soon as we arrived we were ignored by the waitress so we weren't sure what to do or where to go to order etc as there were no... more

My husband took me to Bamburgh for a night as part of my 30th birthday present and we arrived at the Lord Crewe, which is sat practically in the shadow of the castle, without a booking. We parked in the free parking spaces at the front of the hotel but there is also a car park at the back belonging... more
