Went with husband and son to try new menu and was very pleasantly surprised over last time we ate there. The food was fantastic, all flavoursome, and very decent portions. I would describe it as local food with a twist. For starters we had smoked chicken and roast pepper filo tartlet - very tasty, carrot and coriander soup - fresh... More

Room a tad small but breakfast made up for it! I love proper bone in meaty kippers for breakfast and that's what i got here! None of those awful cook in the bag kippers that so many hotels serve up! They seem to be doing refurbishments and staying open so some noise but hopefully they will be finished soon...style is... More

Stayed here recently. Had a nice room, although bathroom had some mould around the shower area. Had dinner in the hotel, but I wasn't very impressed. Had lamb cutlets, all very dry and the vegetables were hard. Breakfast was poor with regards to the fruit, only prunes and grapefruit! There was also cereal. The cooked breakfast was ok. Not sure... We haven't been since it changed hands, but can only say that over the last few years we always enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect for exploring the beautiful countryside and coast. The hotel is small and cozy, and the staff were always friendly and helpful (and happy!) We didn't eat in much in the evenings, but the breakfasts were... More

We had a meal her whilst staying in the town. It was tip top! 4 diners with different choices all delighted by their meal. The house wine was good and a reasonable price. The meal was unhurried and well served. We would recommend it and will return in the future.

Having booked a few weeks ago we were concerned about recent comments, but, after a four night stay, found no problems at all. We were welcomed very pleasantly, with the receptionist insisting on helping with our luggage, and taking trouble to explain how everything worked, meal arrangements etc. Our room, a standard one, was possibly a tad small, but had... I haven't stayed in this hotel so wouldn't know what the rooms had to offer, but did call in with my family to celebrate my birthday in the newly decorated restaurant. We rang earlier in the day to book to avoid disapointment. When we arrrived we were greeted with a smile and the service from all of the staff throughout... More

The hotel is recently refurbished with a pleasant bar and restaurant. Our welcome was warm and friendly and we enjoyed a tasty dinner in the evening. Parking is limited due to the fact that part of the complex has been sold off for development, but there is plans of space further up the road.

We waited over 45 mins for our food, then when it did eventually arrive, the vegetables we're rock hard and cold. We sent the food back only to find that the SAME food was returned ten minutes later warmed up. The staff we're clueless and poorly trained, the starter cutlery was left on the table even though we weren't having... More

We have stayed here several times in the past but it has changed. Formerly a 17-room hotel, part - including the car park - has been sold off for development as holiday apartments. This leaves a 9-room hotel with no car park, so one has to hope that spaces are available on the road outside, not easy at weekends or... More
