I was one of a party of four who had booked here for a family evening meal in the restaurant on a Thursday night. It was moderately busy but the lady looking after the diners coped well and we didn't have too long to wait. After choosing and ordering our meals which included two crab salads we were disappointed to... More

Stayed one night, booked the room at 5pm and paid £70 for a single room and full breakfast. The room was at the front and looked out onto the main road. The traffic had stopped by midnight and Iohad an undisturbed sleep. The room was comfortable with TV, tea making facilities and 4'bed. The room had a powerful shower and... More

Popped in for lunch last week with family who were visiting from afar. Lovely food and attentive staff. Popped back in today and again had a fab lunch in the bar. The cake was from the tea room next door and was fabulous. The staff including Andy were great. Friendly and informative. would recommend to family and friends. We also... More

Visited Bamburgh for the morning and stayed for lunch before heading home. Chose the Lord Crewe as it was first from Bamburgh Castle and lunch menu looked good. 3 of us were eating, including a 3 year old, ordered a ploughman's lunch, homemade fish finger ciabatta and children's fish goujons. Couldn't fault the food, portions were a good size, food... More

The inn has been refurbished downstairs and has a lovely restaurant and bar where food is pricey but plentiful and delicious. Staff are friendly and helpful especially the girls in the tearoom. Rooms have yet to be given much needed makeover but are clean and bed was very comfortable, the only downside is having the room over the bar- you... More

When I booked to stay I was offered a double (with single occupancy rates) with a bath, which sounded great as I was doing a long walk to get here. Unfortunately on checking in I was given a room with only a shower but I'd unpacked before I realised and I was also very tired after a long walk so... More

Popped in after a trip to the Farne Islands mid afternoon. Had loose leaf English Breakfast tea and scones straight from the oven, filled with super fruit, with Jam, butter and cream. The two young ladies that looked after us where helpful, chatty and most efficient. You can sit outside with a view of the castle or sit in. Highly... More

A great find! My husband and I stayed her having turned up last minute looking for a hotel, our room was basic but more than adequate, it seemed clean, comfortable and had all the facilities you would want for a base while away, I have to say the shower was the best shower I've ever had! We ate in the... More

We only popped in for a light lunch, and didn't find much for vegetarians. The staff were apologetic and did their best to help, including bringing the menu through from their adjoining tea-room. We ended up with sandwiches containing a variety of cheeses, salad n stuff. They were simply superb. It's hard to explain how something so simple can taste... More
