Stayed again at this lovely old house. The owners are friendly and helpful as ever and the breakfast would shame many 5* hotels for quality. The thick walls mean the wireless internet [free] didn't really work in the room we had but that's hardly a big deal. Getting evening meals can be a bit of a problem - the Ship... more

We have just had such a lovely stay at this beautiful house. Our hosts (David and Jo) were very welcoming. The big rooms were light, comfortable and filled with fresh flowers from the garden. Breakfast was delicious and the setting dreamy. We spent a relaxing 3 days exploring this unspoilt area and will hopefully return sometime soon. Budle Hall is... more

Bathed in glorious sunshine as we drove up the drive to this gorgeous old Georgian Manor house, our stay was one of gamboling lambs in the grounds (May), historical paintings, fresh flowers from the garden in our beautiful, large en-suite room complete with sweeping canopy over the comfortable (enormous) bed, tasty, hearty breakfasts and a warm welcome to this family... more

We stayed here with our two young children and were treated brilliantly. The home is beautiful, with intruiging paintings and charming decor. It is truly a lived in home - not a stuffy "museum." We stayed in two rooms and the facilities were above and beyond our expectations. We were a little concerned that such a house would be fussy... more

We booked Budle Hall for a wedding reception & 50th birthday on consecutive days late March. Our hosts Jo and David were so helpful in the planning and preparation & decked the place out in the colours to match our themes. All the guests were highly impressed with the food (all produced locally wherever possible), and are still talking about... more

If you would like to stay in a genuine Georgian country hall, then this could be the place for you. The most attractive aspect is the interesting old building with its large rooms and splendid entrance and staircase. This is the sort of building that would be owned by a company CEO if it were within 50 miles of London.... more

We have just returned from two days at Budle Hall following four days touring Scotland by motorcycle. All I can say is in a country full of overpriced, over-rated and basically disappointing B&B's this one is a fantastic find. A wonderful location just minutes from the sandy beach, this typically English country manor house has large rooms full of furniture,... more

After reading the reviews for Budle Hall I had my hopes set high but was sadly disappointed. The people at the venue were pleasant and helpful but the place itself is rather tired and the food (breakfast) left a great deal to be desired. The menu was dog-eared and clearly it had been around for a long time with crossings... more

My wife and I stayed at Budle Hall for the second time this March. We'd been drawn back since our first fantastic stay a couple of years ago. Jo and David are exceptional hosts and amazing cooks, they even provided us with a remarkable candle lit dinner upon our special request in advance. Their breakfasts are delicious, my favourite being... more

I booked to stay at Budle Hall as a surprise for my boyfriend's birthday. I found this via Tripadvisor as it had great reviews. It exceeded my expectations... Jo and her husband David gave us the warmest of welcome's into their delightful and eccentric home. This is not your average B&b- its more like a stately home! Massive old house... more
