Interesting, quirky B&B. Our room was fine with an interesting toilet in the room, it had windows looking out into the bedroom! Lovely big bath tub but no shower. Definitely not your run of the mill place!

Upon arrival I was in two minds as to wether I had inadvertently driven into a reclamation yard or an over wintering site for traveling show. Reception was dark and tatty, we had to ring the place to get someone to attend us. The place was dusty and full of so called antiques, we were shown to our room through... More

Obviously some love it. To me the place was a mess. The entrance and trees/shrubs around the main house were heavily grown over. As we drove in we could see rooms filled with all kinds of stuff like construction debris. There are not one but two signs disclaiming responsibility for car break-ins and theft. The waiting room was dark and... More

A quirky but brilliant B & B. Really made to feel welcome by Peter and Evelyn. Highly recommended for a stay - you will not be disappointed. Great room and lovely courtyard to sit and chat with fellow guests in the evening.

Went to Alnwick Lodge, which is a B&B. Very quirky. Set in an Antique store close to Alnwick. Bedroom quite small but comfortable. Staff very nice and very helpful. Breakfast basic but nice .About 1 mile from centre of town,

I have mixed feelings about this stay. The place was difficult to find if you missed the quick turn from the A1; ok once that was figured out. Rates are not inexpensive, but include full English breakfast. Rooms are decorated with "finds", country quirky, but clean and neat. I had trouble with several features, but at hours when no one... This seems to be a love it or hate it B&B, but for us it was a comfortable, convenient and interesting place to stay, in a beautiful area, with helpful and welcoming staff. The rooms are small but the owners have used space cleverly, and furnished the rooms ingenuously to make them more than acceptable for a short stay. We... More

Great stay, from the warm welcome, great local visitor recommendations from the owners, our bedroom was clean, comfortable and cosy, quirky furnishings (reclaimed items, antiques and curios throughout the property, original stone and wooden features blended in) warm, inviting guest's lounge with open fire (so grateful for it on a cold, wet June day!) Great night's sleep rounded off by... More

If you like something non-standard this will appeal and satisfy you. there is a warm welcome - it is informal, friendly and on a human scale. It is run by real people - not just staffed; comfortable not slick. Wonderful log fires all day, and a relaxing sitting room with comfy sofas. Share big tables with others for breakfast -... More
