We recently stayed in the East Granary, 2 adults, 2 15 year old's and a 10 year old and it was fantastic, the place is beautiful, very different to anywhere we have stayed before. We read some of the mixed reviews from other guests and have to say if you want a Premier Inn/Travel Lodge with nice straight lines then... More

Very welcoming, owners are lovely. Every room looks different. The breakfast was good. The courtyard is a nice way to have a lovely chat with other residents. The only thing I could reproach is the first photo that makes the entrance to look really big whereas it is more a courtyard size than something else.

We booked the lodge for a stop off to break the journey up whilst making our way to Edinburg as it was right on the A1. We arrived late on the Sunday but we spoke with the lodge before hand and explained and they were fine about it. On arrival we were met by the owner who showed us our... More

We booked to stay for one night on 8th August. Having read the previous reviews I didn't know what to expect. It was not the easiest hotel to spot from the road due to some large trees, however, once there I think it would be fair to say Harry Potter sprung to mind! It was quaint in that it looks... More

We visited here on the 2nd August. We had high hopes given the previous reviews and like the sound of quirky and welcoming as not overly keen on anything too formal. Good points for us: The gardens and our room was a good size and the shower was good too. And we were offered tea or coffee when we first... More

The Alnwick Lodge was, without doubt, one of the worst accommodation experiences I have had to endure. Firstly - the photographs on the website belie the actual experience. The pics influenced my booking I have to say, but reality was totally different! The approach to actual accommodation looks like a reclamation yard. It is chaotic and ugly. There were several... Very disappointed to say the least. Room not as appeared on the website, was more like work in progress throughout! Nothing was finished off. Antiques everywhere, even in your room with sale tags on. Asked to change room as not happy. Shown other rooms, which were not much better. Would not go again.

Well I can really say a first class hotel , with amazing staff . We celebrated my husbands birthday weekend and stopped three nights , I would highly recommend staying , most quirky and delightful rooms . Evelyn was wonderful decorated our room with balloons and a fruit bowl . Oh and a chilled bottle of presecco .

Unfortunately i had not read the description carefully before booking. Impressive main photo and i had assumed incorrectly that there was a bar and restaurant. No reception staff available on arrival and a young lady had to find someone to give me the key.I was in the Mouse House which was small, no wardrobe for my suit and an interesting... More
