This is not the sort of place that will appeal to everyone. It is highly eccentric from the scary turning you have to take off the A1 to get to it, to the salvage yard that surrounds it, to the candle-lit breakfast We stayed in the old bull pen, a ground floor room, with my dog. It consists of an... More

We booked into Alnwick lodge as we were attending a wedding there. From the minute we pulled up I knew the place was going to be different and a little bit special! Staff welcomed us and were extremely friendly and attended to our every need! We were shown to our room which was a nice size and had all amenities... More

We attended a wedding reception at Alnwick Lodge. I loved the place. I suppose the best way to describe it is quirky. Every way you turned there was something interesting to look at. The meal was lovely, roast beef dinner with beef to die for. I had the lemon cheese cake which was also gorgeous. All clean plates on our... More

I LOVE staying in places like this - full of character, warm, cosy and welcoming, every room is different. We were celebrating my mother's 80th Birthday and there were quite a lot of us for a B&B (about 25). The service was excellent and unobtrusive, we felt like it was our family's home for the night. The décor and the... More

Independent establishment that offers family rooms with lots of character - our room was in the eaves. Free WiFi and lots of plugs for charging devices. Welcoming pot of tea, and kids enjoyed meeting resident cat and chickens. Sadly the breakfast wasn't great and the common rooms were rather dusty and neglected. Eclectic antiques everywhere, didn't make for the most... More

We had to look for someone to book us in when we arrived and after that we were not asked by anyone if we were o.k. There was a wooden floor in the "cart Shed" and the rugs on top were very dirty and grubby. There was a smell of damp and the bed was the most uncomfortable bed we have... More

Alnwick Lodge- Eclectic and eccentric. Booked last minute to stop at the Alnwick Lodge, owners were very accommodating with our dates and made allowances to enable us to bring our two dogs for which we are very grateful. Location wise the Lodge is located next to the A1 a couple of miles south of Alnwick a great location for exploring... More

We had an overnight stay at this unique B and B. On driving into the lodge it looked like a builders yard. Once through into the courtyard things looked different. A welcoming wood burning fire welcomed us at reception. The sleeping accommodation was comfortable. Lovely white linen and towels. Breakfast excellent.Staff very friendly including you French waitress. Great antique gallery... More

We have just returned from staying at the Alnwick Lodge! What a wonderful place! The service was out of this world! It was like home from home. The open fire was beautiful in the eve! The lovely owner couldn't do enough to make sure we had a comfortable stay! Highly recommended.

We have just returned from this b and b and it was pretty disappointing. The pictures on the website aren't a true reflection of the place at all. The room we had had no window or view also had an unpleasant oder to it. The furniture was a mish mash of old worn out second hand stuff there was no... More
