I visited The Oaks Hotel on two occasions now, back in February and for the May Bank holiday weekend - May 1st until Monday 4th with my family. On both occasions I found the hotel, rooms, staff and food to be absolutely faultless. Rooms had a very homely feel, very clean, had large televisions and lovely ensuite bathrooms. Staff were... Myself and my wife have just had two lovely days out exploring Alnwick, Bamburgh, Dunstanborough and Craster. Stayed at the Oaks for two nights. Its in a good location with a 5-10minute walk into Alnwick, (if you can get past the marvellous Barters Books emporioum enroute... What an amazing place.) and easy access to nearby main roads. The hotel is... More

Two for early dinner. Mushroom & leek soup had little mushroom or leek taste but the potato skins with garlic mayo were good. Carvery: overcooked and tasteless beef, undercooked roast potatoes, soggy cabbage, huge and tasteless Yorkshire pud, cauliflower cheese tasted of fish. The worst cod & chips I ever had. The cod was dry and tasteless and the batter... More

Stopped off for lunch Easter sunday, had the Cauvery which was very good and great value, thick slices of tender beef, tasty thick gravy and well cooked vegetables, friendly staff. Excellent value for money.

I decided to have a weekend back in the town of my birth. I lived in Alnwick until I went to university about 40 years ago. In fact my grandfather and grandmother lived in part of what is now The Oaks which was then two houses. It's changed a bit it but it brought back many memories. I'd like to... More

The staff were friendly and the rooms were comfortable they did require slight updating but they were clean. Breakfast was tasty and just what was needed following an evening or drinking!! All in all a warm and... More

After a recommendation from a local shop worker, we came here for Sunday lunch. We got two meat carverys and they were very tasty! I liked the fact we could help our selves to the vegetables, roasties & gravy as me and my partner have different portion sizes! The meat just fell apart and it the food was hot and... More

My self and 3 ex works colleagues met for lunch. 2 of us had battered cod, chips, peas, and side salad, with accompanying sauces, not a huge helping but quite sufficient, both of us really enjoyed it at a little over £10 per head, our 2 friends had soup of the day along with a big bun, again not huge... We stayed at the Oaks Hotel for 2 nights, the hotel is very friendly as is all the staff really made you feel at home. Food and beverages in the hotel are really good and they have a lovely menu.
