We were lucky enough to stay with Dean at Cheviot View during mid November this year (2011). If it’s your intention to visit this part of the world I can’t imagine anywhere better to stay. This is a stunning, traditional stone-based building which is maintained to the highest standard. We had a beautiful twin bedded room with ensuite, the beds... More

My partner and I had the twin bedroom with ensuite bathroom for one night, which was fine - however, the beds were separated so not as romantic as it could have been. Apart from that, the room was fine; very clean, with everything needed supplied. The breakfast was good, and Dean was a talkative, friendly host. Powburn village is a... More

Found this b&b on Google and really glad we did! Accommodated our family of 4 with no probs. Found the location perfect for visiting all the local attractions. Dean gave us lots of suggestions of where to eat and where to visit which we were really glad of. We would certainly return! Breakfast was perfect too! More

I have just returned from a three night stay at Cheviot View with a friend and was so impressed that I must share my experience with anyone who is intending to visit this area. On entering the guest house, you are immediately encompassed by a wonderfully cosy and warm feeling and you love it immediately. Dean was a great host... More

Went with a friend and stayed for 3 nights and had a superb time. Accommodation, food and hospitality couldn't be faulted. The rooms and ensuites were spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated, to as high a standard as you'd have at home- if not higher! House had a lovely homely feeling and we were made to feel very welcome and even... More

Stayed for 2 nights with my 12-year-old grandson. Dean made us feel welcome from the moment I spoke with him to make the booking (I was a return visitor, having stayed previously during their first year of operation). The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and we felt we could relax immediately we entered. The linen on the beds and in... More

We were made to feel welcome the moment we walked in the door. Rooms were comfortable clean and welcoming......no floral wallpaper in sight. Dean had plenty of suggestions for restaurants to eat at and places to visit. His local knowledge was invaluable. Would certainly visit again. An added bonus was the amazing weather! 27C on Holy Island in September!! More

Bit late posting this review as we stayed for 3 nights in early summer. Cheviot View is about 20 minutes from the coast. Dean is, as mentioned (just a few times in previous reviews!) a very welcoming, enthusiastic and friendly host. Breakfasts were lovely, made to order and so nice to have local produce and free range eggs. We had... More

Wonderful accommodation, most certainly deserving of its 4 stars! The B/B is very tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean, with comfortable beds, nice bed linen,(fab night's sleep!) luxurious towels and a magnificent bathroom to use. Cooked breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice, using tasty local produce and cooked superbly!. Dean and Kay are very welcoming hosts. Dean is extremely accommodating and... More

Found this place very much by chance after previous accommodation had had to cancel our booking...and for our entire stay we were very glad that we did! Dean was one of the most friendly, generous hosts we could ever have wished for, value for money was fantastic, room was clean and comfortable with large en-suite, breakfast was delicious and despite...
