A friend had recommended Redfoot Lea after staying a couple of years ago. As we were planning to visit Alnwick and the Northumberland coast this was an ideal opportunity to experience what had been described to us as, "The best B&B I have ever stayed in". Expectations were high and we were not disappointed; from the personal welcome by Philly,... More

This is the best B & B my wife and I have ever stayed at and we've been to a few. We will definitely be returning and can only echo the other positive reviews. Philly is an excellent host and is keen to make your stay as delightful as possible.

We visited Redfoot Lea again this year as one of our favourite places to stay. It did not disappoint. Philly welcomed us as usual with coffee and the delicious cake that was in our room was delicious. Rooms are beautifully furnished. A very lovely and relaxing place to stay with a guest lounge. The breakfast was perfect with plenty to... More

This B&B is absolutely lovely, Philly is a welcoming and generous host, very friendly and helpful without being 'pushy'.The rooms are attractive and are beautifully furnished in a modern, elegant style. Breakfasts are delicious, the cooking perfect - particularly the eggs! Philly's attention to detail makes this a very special place. Although close to the A1 it doesn't feel like... More

We have just returned from a great three night stay at Redfoot Lea, Philly is so welcoming and helpful, nothing too much trouble. The bedroom was clean and had everything you would need in such a lovely spot. The daily homemade cake was an added bonus and the offer of wine, tea or beer on arrival was very welcomed. We... More

Each year we return to this top class B&B. Philly always makes us feel a big part of whatever is going on either in the house or anywhere in Northumberland she recommends. Over the years we've experienced some of the best hospitality you can - anywhere! Why would you want to go anywhere else?

This is a lovely place to stay if you are visiting the North East. Everything about it demonstrates an effortless ease behind which is a lot of very hard work. There is a charm about the place which comes from a charming Hostess, Philly, and Host, Andrew. The house and gardens are lovely and cared for meticulously. The breakfasts are... More

We enjoyed wonderful hospitality at Redfoot Lea. Nothing was too much trouble for Philly our Hostess. Everywhere was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was lovely. Easy access to A1 but near to Alnwick and coast. We will be back!

From the friendly welcome to the delicious daily cake, we couldn't fault our hosts. Such interesting, intelligent people with a beautiful garden and expert knowledge of the area. Extremely kind and brilliant cook, even giving us lifts. Only one caveat: not ideal if you don't have a car

The hotel was in a very convenient location for our trip to Northumberland situated just off the A1 just on the outskirts of Alnwick. A very tastefully decorated B&B which gives you the privacy of a hotel but the feeling of being in a home. The owners ensured we were welcomed personally on our visit and was given the nice... More
