We are just home from a fantastic 2 night stay at birdsong. We stayed in Swallow's Rest which was a lovely, spacious room. The room was fully equipped with TV, lush coffee machine and a mini-fridge complete with Birdsong gin and Bacardi. There were lots of lovely treats left for us which made our stay feel even more luxurious. Our... More

Just stayed with Amanda and Gary in Swallows Rest. Beautiful room, the private bathroom is to die for. The experience starts from the moment you stand inside. Caring and thoughtful people, every last touch of comfort you could want. Even down to the electric blanket to snuggle down in bed. I would highly recommend this place. Just don't go too... More

My husband and i stayed here for two nights, mainly because i was keen to enjoy a hot tub under the stars! Accordingly we stayed in 'The Haven', which has a private deck complete with fairy lights, Buddha statue and the tub. I loved little details, such as provision of plastic champagne flutes - and glass ones for when you... More

Stayed here for one night this week. Although it is like staying overnight in someone's house, we were left completely alone after being shown to the room until breakfast. We felt so welcomed that we could have stayed longer. I usually take everything with me when I go away (much to the delight of my travelling companions) but I agree... More

As part of my birthday present my fiance booked the birdsong cottage for a night away. Situated just off the A1 off a little country lane this lovely little bed and breakfast sits. Before we even arrived we were impressed with Birdsong Cottage. We had sent an email to ask of anywhere to eat close by and Amanda had kindly... More

From the moment we arrived at Birdsong Cottage we were made to feel so welcome it was just like staying at a friend's house! We stayed in the Swallow's Rest, the room was lovely & cosy with everything we could need: toiletries, robes, slippers, mini bar, TV with a selection of DVDs and a coffee maker complete with a machine... Myself and my partner always decide to stay away for a few nights over Christmas rather than do gifts! As memories live forever and without doubt we will never forget our stay here!! What a lovely place with so much detail character and love. The bathroom with the jacuzzi is pure heaven was worth the fee alone with a good... More

Stayed here one night in August for my partners birthday and paid for the extra chocolates, champagne and strawberries. Had a lovely evening in the hot tub and felt well and truly pampered. We had bacon stotties and pastries for breakfast which were delightful and neither of us wanted to leave. Highly recommended

If you want to truly pamper yourself and your loved ones then book the Raven suite with the private hot tub, the wine and chocolates. Make it a dark evening, with the mood lighting and some music on your iPad and it is bliss.Could it get better? It certainly did, with a sumptuously comfortable bed and the decadent wet room. Then the bacon...
