We ate here for the first time last Friday evening (we were not staying here) and had booked a table in the upstairs restaurant. What a transformation this place has had, a huge difference to it's predecessor which was a very grotty drinkers pub. The outside seating area is lovely as is the bar areas. The restaurant is tastefully done... more

My husband booked a special weekend break at this supposedly boutque hotel for our Wedding Anniversary. First impressions were good. It looked lovely from the outside, well maintained, plenty of carparking, and the girl who booked us in was very pleasant. Our room was small and dark with a view of a tarmac drive. The room was nice and clean... more

The problem is thats it's a hybrid of a well- designed modern hotel in need of some snagging , grafted onto a pub with a great deal of noise and no sense of exclusivity at all. We were put in the annexe adjacent to the main building...a front door off the main road leads to a small corridor with 4... more

We stayed at Blackmore's for 2 nights 26th 27th March 09. We were offered a room in the annex across the lane on the ground floor, but having read another tripadvisor review about the noise from traffic we asked for another room. The young lady was very pleasant and offered us a room directly above which I think was probably... more

We only stayed one night and used very few of the hotels facilities (by our choice). Our room was in the annexe across a lane and fronted directly onto the footway and roadway and the traffic noise was very obtrusive during the afternoon/evening although thankfully it was not evident overnight until about 7am - don't expect a quiet lie-in. Our... more

First person we met on Reception was Gemma, fantastic young lady, very friendly and personable and really helpful. The Hotel is in the Boutique Style, lovely decor, contemporary and tastefully decorated. The rooms we looked at were a little on the small side, very 'bijou' but had everything you could need. The Building is a listed Building (previously a pub... more

We stayed here for two nights as a base to explore the Northumberland coast and castles. We'd booked after looking at their website which is pretty much spot on with its photos and description. Plenty of private parking when you arrive, accessed through a narrow passageway and a steep ramp which was fine for us in our little sports car,... more

I stayed at this hotel when I got stuck driving home on the A1 from Edinburgh to London due to the floods at Morpeth. It was a case of just finding the nearest town that had somewhere to stay for the night. The staff were not particularly hospitable but then they are bar and restaurant staff rather than hoteliers. There... more
