With secure storage, good food, comfortable rooms and BEER... this has it all... Nice people, nice food, nice price. Be ready for a steep climb in the morning and be sure to look at the water engine next door. Recommended!

After a tough day we arrived at a lovely place that raised spirits immediately. The rooms were good, the food and drink were great and the hosts were excellent . Will definitely come here again . This place is on the well known C2C route but all travellers are welcome, young and old.

I've stopped here a couple of times now while doing the Coast 2 Coast. The location is great, the Inn is packed with character and has a warm family feel about it. The rooms have everything you need. The bar features some good cask ales along with other beers etc. The main meals were very substantial and nice, nobody in... More

Stayed here for our 2nd nights stop while riding the C2C and what a great choice it was. It was one of, if not the best night of all the places we have stopped at while doing various rides over the past 6 years. We were made to feel very welcome by Ann and the staff, had a lovely meal... More

I can only agree with Paul G, being a member of the same party. If you're expecting a premier inn, you may be disappointed, but my room had real character, was clean and bed comfortable. I slept like a log. At the end of the day, it was built in 1770! The food was great and the staff very welcoming... More

This pub is one of the best kept secrets for anyone who is cycling the official C2C route. the choice of beers, lagers and ciders, along with spirits is astounding. Our evening meal and the atmosphere was fantastic. For two of our party, our legends, this was made all the more special with the lengths that the Allenheads Inn went... More

We completed the C 2 C in summer with old friends whilst over in the UK. We stayed here for one night and found it to be really enjoyable with good home cooking, very drinkable ale and a cosy bedroom. If in the area try to visit the Overwater Lodge Restaurant in near by Nenthead, we had the best dining... More
