I have never stayed at the Rothwell House hotel, however i have eaten there on many of occassions with my family and friends... the food is fantastic and great value for money. The staff are very friendly. They have live entertainment on at weekends which is brilliant for all ages. The other coments regarding heating ETC are conflicting. I would... more

A booking agency booked this 'hotel' for a one-night stay for myself and a colleague. On arrival we were surprised to see that the hotel is almost entirely used as a hostel to accommodate homeless families. Not a problem in itself but it is clearly set-up for this purpose and my colleague's room had a third bed crammed into a... more

Fantastic old building but it needs some serious money spending on it. The once cream stairs carpet was an interesting shade of brown. Room was incredibly hot in summer because the heating was on constantly. When asked if the radiator in the room could be turned off I was told if the heating goes off so does the hot water.... more

We recently had relatives stay at this hotel for a long weekend. From the moment they arrived they were made to feel extremely welcome. All the staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Their rooms had recently been refurbished to a very high standard and were spotlessly clean and comfortable. This hotel has a very pleasant bar area which is ideal... more

We had booked a family room and arrived just befor 5pm on Good Friday. We were attending a family birthday party at a nearby club, so the hotel's location was ideal. There was no reception desk, so we wandered through to the bar and spoke to a member of staff who handed us a room key and directed us to... more

On arrival we were told that reception' wasn't working' but someone who came from the bar area did have our names on a folded piece of paper, which were checked off and we were told where to find our room. No heating in our room on arrival (5.30pm) or before we went out at 7.30pm and all fire doors were... more

Firstly I can't comment on what it's like to stay at the Rothwell House Hotel, because I haven't. But I have eaten there and had a drink on many, many occassions. The bar area is set up like a trendy gastro pub - leather sofas, open spaces, papers to read - a nice place to chill. The current owners have... more

I booked this hotel through a wesite with a picture of the hotel and a small write up saying that 'the hotel prides itself on its standards of cleanliness' and 'a reputation for providing a warm and friendly home from home atmosphere'. What a joke! The Rothwell House Hotel is more like a DSS hostel and an absolutely filthy one... more

How dare this guest write that the Rothwell House Hotel is more like a DSS Hostel. This is a discriminatory comment towards people how have the need to use DSS if required. They do not know any other guests and to assume this is wrong.Lets hope they dont need help some day as I am sure they are too proud to...
