We were made very welcome. Our room on the second floor involved much effort with our luggage and, despite being elderly, no offer of help. The room was adequate with a somewhat small bathroom. On a very hot night air conditioning would have been welcome. The staff were very efficient, our dinner and breakfast excellent. The building is well maintained... More

We have just stayed two nights at this three star hotel in Oundle, Northamptonshire (a pretty, limestone market town). We found the hotel staff to be very friendly and helpful, the room comfortable and the courtyard and gardens very attractive. Breakfasts were good, freshly cooked with quality ingredients and the evening meal from the AA one rosette restaurant was most... More

Stayed two nights at the Talbot. Everything from first contacting reception onwards was a delight. The ground floor room was large, modern, well furnished and the bathroom was similar. The bed was so comfortable as well. All the public areas were plain, quiet and welcoming. We ate in the Eatery both nights and the menu and the prices were very... More

This was a GF booked experience and a surpise (for me). The room was large and spacious and the shower room (no bath) was excellently appointed. The refurbishment had been done to a very high standard. Breakfast was in a large and bright area and was very good.

12 of us went for afternoon tea. Whilst the food and drinks were ok I had to leave the table 3 times to find a member of staff to order food and drink. Each time I found several staff standing chatting near the till area - there were very few other customers so they weren't mega busy looking after other... More

Booked this via Amazon Local, two nights B&B for £99. The quality of the hotel was really good quaint but modern in places. The food was excellent at breakfast and we had one night in the restaurant which again was well worth the money. Rooms have WFI but no air con, as we went in July we were supplied with... More

I went to Oundle to meet a friend that I hadn't seen for over 50 years, she lives at Peterborough so it was just a short hop for her, it was a Sunday so there was no traffic from London. We spent the whole day at the hotel, having a lovely Sunday Lunch, I asked for strawberries & ice cream... More
