You can always rely in The Ship for a great pub meal, especially a Sunday lunch. Also a well stocked bar with a wide range of hand pulled ales if that's your thing. The spacious patio is a sheltered sun trap in the summer, and there's live music from time to time. Well worth a visit

The Ship Inn could not have been more cozy or welcoming. Eating solo is never fun but I was shown to a small table by the fireplace and made to feel right at home. The menu is traditional pub food with a variety of specials. I ordered whitebait as a starter: they were plentiful, crispy and delicious. Then a proper... More

Three times within ten days eating at The Ship. All most enjoyable. Nothing over the top. Traditional, value for money, quality. Can't resist the Haddock and Chips £8.95. Had the pasta in the week. Delicious! Went in the other bar for the first time ever. We are locals of 40 years. Most surprised. Other diners also created the atmosphere. Rachel... More

It's not a grand coaching inn with luxurious rooms but as a very cheap stopover it does the job. Breakfasts aren't provided for most days but the Beans café on the nearby square is very good. We didn't eat here but the Nene Valley Brewery Tap & Kitchen on the edge of town (15 minutes walk) is very good.

Stopped in for Saturday lunch. Oundle was buzzing as the farmers market was on and a craft fair too. Very welcoming and efficient staff. Excellent specials board as you enter. My husband ordered the duo of pate which was chicken liver and mackerel. Portion size was enough for 2 and what a change to see enough melba toast for the... More

Stayed over for a recent wedding, arrived in a bit of a rush so initially didn't take too much notice of the room until went to take a shower the following morning. To say it was not fit for purpose is a massive understatement. Mould everywhere, facet broken, so decided not to chance it. The whole room was pretty grubby... More

We visited The Ship for a drink and evening pub meal as we passed through Oundle. The bar staff were really friendly and welcoming, there was no loud music to interrupt conversation and the food tasted amazing. We will definitely go back to this cosy and welcoming pub

The food was ok. I just can't seem to find good pub food in my fav town. So eat at home and come here for a pint or prepare yourself for mediocrity. The staff is friendly and the cider is cold, dog friendly, lots of outdoor seating. I have yet to try their Pimms but I'll let you know!
