Simply the best pub in Oundle, good food, good people, great atmosphere, stayed in the accommodation before moving to this part of the country (12 years ago) & it was a good value B&B, I'm sure it still is. Plenty of sport on the TVs which are not intrusive to the eating areas, big rambling pub. long may it continue.

A nice thought out menu, good friendly service, proper English pub grub and resonably priced. Worth a visit, a little gem in Oundle. Great for families, kids and adults alike, busy for a Monday evening.

I had a very enjoyable stay with my family with good food, morning and dinner. The room however is very noisy because of people coming home from the pub so you do wake up in the middle of the night a lot. It's also very cold here but rather enjoyable.

I stayed overnight in a cold, clammy room which needed a bit of an update to make it acceptable. Price was okay I suppose. Door to the bedroom was stuck and had to be kicked to open it. I am not a violent man but I did have to use more than reasonable force to get into and out of... More

Just home from a lovely two night break from Amazon Local. We love the Talbot at Oundle. You are made to feel welcome from the minute you check in. Our room wasn't ready but we were given complimentary coffees in the eatery area while it was done. The hotel had been busy and we arrived Sunday afternoon. We were soon... More

Stayed here for 2 nights this weekend while meeting up with family at Barnwell Country Park. Accomodation was good value. Food was really good pub fare, we had Sunday breakfast which was excellent. Nice choice of beers and wines. A very busy pub (it was World Cup Final weekend!), but the noise and football was contained in the outside sitting... More

I turned up at The Ship after to watch the World Cup game last night, arriving in Oundle a little late. Although I arrived after the kitchen had shut, the landlord made a huge effort to get me some food, which was simple but delicious pub fare. Thank you!

We ate here on Sunday 1st June 2014. The food was homemade and first class. The staff couldn't be more helpful and the service was second to none. Excellently priced, excellent service, polite and friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble. All in all, a good pub with good food. Well worth a visit.

We stayed two nights and found the Ship Inn value for money. Our room was generous in size but in need of a little update. However for a short break they were adequate. The staff were very friendly and particularly helpful. Cooked Breakfast on Sunday morning was also freshly cooked and enjoyable. Breakfast is only served on Sunday but there... More

Service with a smile and in a very clean and cosy inn. The toilets are very clean and the bar staff very willing to assist! The parking is a little tight but it's safe and off the main road. Specials board offers great choice and gluten free food available at request!
