This is a charming location and a unique hotel. We stayed in the Lucom room which is compact but quirky with a 'floating' bed occupying the old winding house. The restaurant is delightful and the food is excellent. The front of house team are very cheerful, friendly and helpful. We had an excellent stay and would recommend it, particularly if... More

We had a really pleasant lunch with friends we had not seen for a while. The atmosphere was pleasantly relaxed and quiet enough to be able to talk at a comfortable level while buzzing away in the background. Service was excellent, the food tasted great. So why 4* .. there was an imbalance between the size of "Sunday Roast" portions... More

Stayed in the Mill Room with my partner over the valentines weekend. What a fantastic stay! The mill room is impressive and I would highly recommend it, with a real fire fireplace, a super comfy bed and a massive luxury bath you should splash out a bit extra! The staff were really welcoming and the restaurant manager was very chatty... More

We were recommended this restaurant by the owner of Swallows Rest Brigstock where we were staying (highly recommend this luxury 2 room guesthouse - see separate review), and booked a table many months in advance. I followed that up with an email confirmation 2 days prior to our arrival. On arrival we were asked if we wanted to go straight... More

We loved our last experience here and this time we decided to try Sunday lunch on Feb 2nd. On our arrival we heard the head chef was away on a 4 week holiday, we were worried as our experiences in other restaurants where the head chef is absent, has not been up to standard! We certainly had nothing to worry... More

This was my second visit. Six of us enjoyed a scrumptious lunch. Starters ranging from Tempura Black Pudding to Prawns all received rave reactions. The venison, beef and pheasant main courses were equally enthusiastically appreciated. The red wine, a Zinfandel, was superb. Desserts were excellent including some sorbets which were not on the menu. Service was friendly, relaxed and unhurried.... More

Oundle Mill was suggested by a colleague for meeting over lunch. Ideal spot to chat over drinks, looking out over the water. Followed by food that was full of flavour, great ingredients perfectly put together. Very relaxed, pleasant service. Only watch-out (but part of the charm) were the very low ceilings!

We had a Sunday lunch here. Food was fab. I had the beef which was truly amazing. The setting is also beautiful looking over the river. Staff were excellent especially as we had a baby in tow. It could be pricey if you went for a la carte however we found this an immensely enjoyable dining experience.

Beautiful setting by the banks of the Nene, next to Oundle Lock, ina pretty but often overlooked part of England, which offers delightfull rolling vistas of ancient fields and hedgerows with the odd Gothic spire in the middle distance. The hotel building is a funky conversion of a lovely old mill, but has some disadvantages- small windows (very hot on... More

Thank you for your feedback from your stay with us. I am delighted that you chose us and enjoyed your time here. Unfortunately, due to being a listed building, air conditioning is not an option for us and we do have fans in the rooms but on a hot day, the rooms can indeed get warm. The team will always... More

This converted mill is in a beautiful setting, there is a very welcoming reception with a partial glass floor area where you can view the water gushing through beneath..The restaurant is on the first floor with two nicely bedrooms an overspill restaurant on the third. The menu is adventurous and the food lives up to expectations. The restaurant lacks some... More
