We had a really fantastic evening at Oundle Mill. A lovely setting, sympathetically restored. The meal was absolutely exquisite without being overly fussy. Service was spot on - attentive but not in-your-face. We really enjoyed it and will be back. They have rooms too!

My husband took me on a mystery tour last wednesday evening ending up with a nights stay in this beautiful old mill near Oundle. We stayed in the smaller of the two rooms which was quirky and very comfortable. The evening meal and breakfast were excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. This place is a true gem and I... This is our 2nd visit to the Mill and it was as enjoyable as the first. We enjoy staying at unusual hotels. This ticks all the boxes. I booked the Mill room as a Xmas gift for my partner, with the rate is £50 towards food. We arrived early and walked into the village and had a coffee, then onto... More

Found this place in a "Good Food guide" and after a couple of attempts managed to get booked in for lunch on Easter Sunday. Wow, we can see why it's not easy to get in without advance booking. The location and establishment are wonderful and the food...we'll, we have eaten in many many top restaurants and I wouldn't hesitate to... More

This is a charming location and a unique hotel. We stayed in the Lucom room which is compact but quirky with a 'floating' bed occupying the old winding house. The restaurant is delightful and the food is excellent. The front of house team are very cheerful, friendly and helpful. We had an excellent stay and would recommend it, particularly if... More

We had a really pleasant lunch with friends we had not seen for a while. The atmosphere was pleasantly relaxed and quiet enough to be able to talk at a comfortable level while buzzing away in the background. Service was excellent, the food tasted great. So why 4* .. there was an imbalance between the size of "Sunday Roast" portions... More

Stayed in the Mill Room with my partner over the valentines weekend. What a fantastic stay! The mill room is impressive and I would highly recommend it, with a real fire fireplace, a super comfy bed and a massive luxury bath you should splash out a bit extra! The staff were really welcoming and the restaurant manager was very chatty... More

We were recommended this restaurant by the owner of Swallows Rest Brigstock where we were staying (highly recommend this luxury 2 room guesthouse - see separate review), and booked a table many months in advance. I followed that up with an email confirmation 2 days prior to our arrival. On arrival we were asked if we wanted to go straight... More

We loved our last experience here and this time we decided to try Sunday lunch on Feb 2nd. On our arrival we heard the head chef was away on a 4 week holiday, we were worried as our experiences in other restaurants where the head chef is absent, has not been up to standard! We certainly had nothing to worry... More

This was my second visit. Six of us enjoyed a scrumptious lunch. Starters ranging from Tempura Black Pudding to Prawns all received rave reactions. The venison, beef and pheasant main courses were equally enthusiastically appreciated. The red wine, a Zinfandel, was superb. Desserts were excellent including some sorbets which were not on the menu. Service was friendly, relaxed and unhurried.... More
