This was booked through hotels.com for 3 people. we arrived late (just before 10 pm) and were promptly and perfunctorily shown to our room. The following morning, the 3 of us descended for breakfast; we were the only guests there. Very quickly, there was an outburst as (what seemed like) an employee emerged from the kitchen, with a tray, talking... More

Attended here for a group family dinner (served in a private room), the service was fantastic and the food was amazing, I really could not fault either. This is not a £10 per head kind of pub, quality and service come at a reasonable price.

If you want to sleep in your b and b this one is not for you. Noisy Staff get together till 2am! Terrible, old, uncomfortable bed, pillows like breeze blocks and been used for years and years.. Venetian blinds let all the light in, so no sleeping in past sunrise. Standard room so tiny, photos on the website very deceiving.... More

If you're golfing in the area (or hiking/biking, etc.), this place is a little gem. Only 12 smallish rooms, each is very lovingly and thoughtfully done up to a nice standard. But so much more is the general atmosphere of welcome. When we arrived late afternoon, straight off the course, before even asking our names, the gracious host asked if... More

We stayed here for one night dinner bed and breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed it, The staff were welcoming and the food at both dinner and breakfast was very good. It was a saturday night and the place was very busy but the service was great and the atmosphere relaxed and unhurried. The bedroom & ensuite was on the small side... More

Twin room booked for a Friday and Saturday night. Lots of parking to the rear of the hotel. Room is smaller than average, but is well furnished with quality fittings and linen. Bathroom is also on the small size, with a shower cubicle and toilet. Everything was very clean. Good sized wardrobe, Desk, flat screen TV, coffee and Tea making... More

We booked a room here well in advance as we liked the look of the place but were put off by some of the reviews relating to diners who had a bad experience following a complaint about their meal in the restaurant. For that reason we decided not to eat there in the evening. Our room was comfortable and the... More

had 2 rooms booked here last week as me and a workmate were attending a event locally, we got back to the hotel at around 23:30, and before we even opened the front door we where greeted by the obnoxious landlord, who didn't appreciate us coming back at 23:30, after a 20 minuet standoff with the landlord and 30 minuets... This is one of those rare gems that you find from timt-to-time - but never very often. My wife and I ere walking the Yorkshire Wolds Way. The day had been cold, gusty and miserable. With one call to the Blue Bell, a luxurious car came to meet us. Our bedraggled state was not a proble. We were shown to... More
