The fact it's a struggle to park in either of it's two car parks indicates how popular this place is, and with good reason. From the friendly greeting and tentative service this place is great to visit for family/friends meal out. It's got all the feel of a traditional village pub but with posh dining experience in the cosy restaurant.... More

As an owner of local holiday lets which have the capability of housing 20 occupants (therefore 20 new potential customers on a weekly basis) myself and husband went in to sample the food and "landlord" after we had a review left in our guest book(we leave this book for guests to put in comments and recommendations of local pubs/restaurants and... We booked a specific table in the bar well in advance and arrived to find this table occupied by others. We pointed this out to the staff who appeared to be embarrassed by the situation and we were seated elsewhere. During the evening it became apparent that the people sitting at the table we had booked were very friendly with... More

One of our favourite places.......until now. Never in our lives have we ever encountered the rudest, angriest and most unpleasant landlord in history. I booked early (2 weeks in advance) and was told over the phone that only a table in the bar was available....fine. We arrived, sat at the bar and ordered drinks..the waiter handed us a set menu... I booked Sunday lunch here on the recommendation of a friend, also seeing otger reviews. However I found our visit disappointing, the food generally was average, and the tomato soup I had lacked any depth of flavour and was too acidic for my palate. The service although pleasant enough was so brisk too much so for what should be a... More

Went for Sunday lunch and we were seated in the bar area. Lovely table. We have previously eaten in the dining room but the bar area has much more atmosphere and the fire was roaring. We really enjoyed our meal, we had the 2 course lunch. The food was lovely and the staff really friendly. The place was packed out,... More

A beautiful country inn, spent one night there in a champagne room which was very well appointed, for dinner we both had fittet steak which was cooked to perfection, the tetley bitter was a great pint too. The breakfast was the best i have ever had, the staff were efficient and friendly. This place came highly recommended and did not... More

My partners mum and dad bought us here for a night’s stay and meal for a surprise for both our 40th's, when we first pulled up all I could see was a normal country pub that didn't look anything special.. But Wow, we were shown to our rooms across from the pub called the Champagne rooms, I think there are... More

This was my first time to the Bluebell and I enjoyed it as soon as I walked though the door. The service from the owner, his son and the other members off staff was impeccable. We were taken care of very well. We initially had a drink in the bar before meeting friends for dinner. It was a Friday night and... More

We just celebrated my husband's 60th birthday party in the Laurent Perrier Room. Hats off to all the staff for making our family and friends enjoy a great weekend. Especially Taylor who looked after our every need in the party room. We had eaten in their restaurant twice before and had excellent quality locally sourced food, but were concerned that... More
