Went for dinner with the family. Tastefully decorated restaurant. Varied menu with good choice for kids. The staff were friendly and efficient. All our starters and main courses were beautifully presented and were well cooked. The pan fried salmon was exceptional as was the duck. Delicious desserts to follow made for a wonderful evening.

After a day out we decided to call in at the Punch Bowl in the hope they might have a table available in the restaurant. They told us they had one left and that it was our lucky day. The starters were good (salmon for me and soup for my wife). The second course arrived and also looked good -... More

We have previously just eaten there but this time stayed for two nights. The room was beautiful and looked out over Swaledale. We had dinner breakfast and lunch and all were delicious, particularly the kipper at breakfast. The beer is Black Sheep, one of the best in the country. We were travelling back from Scotland to Surrey and this was... More

We came to the Punch Bowl on one of our usual dinner dates, me and 3 friends, after a pleasant drive and arrived ready to dine. We were greeted warmly by very pleasant staff and were shown to our table which we had booked for our evening after getting some drinks from the bar. The setting was lovely and the... More

We are on holiday in the area and The Punch Bowl Inn was recommended in the cottage folder. We received a very warm welcome from the staff and the food was delicious. We will definitely be making a return trip before we go back.

Very short and unfriendly when asked about menu. I ordered a mushroom burger which when it arrived had a considerable amount of mould on the bread... More

After a lovely walk to isles bridge. We popped into the punch bowl for a few drinks and sat outside to take in the lovely views. The menu was so tempting and we stayed for dinner. It was utterly gorgeous, good value for money and delightful wine. Great waitressing staff, Will definitely come again.

Stayed overnight in Room 1 for which we paid £110 B&B, overpriced ! Good view to front of Swaledale but view from rear window not good ! No milk supplied in room. Had to go up to "sitting room" on floor above to access jug of milk from 'fridge. Would have been happier with 'long life' milk in room. No... More
