We managed to get away for a belated one-night honeymoon leaving the 3 children with grandparents for the first time. The stay at Rowleth End was everything we wanted, gorgeous setting with wonderful walking, extremely comfortable and beautiful house, a very kind host, and really excellent food. We booked on the internet late the night before, rang just before setting... more

Upon arrival late afternoon we were told by a young boy who was washing the kitchen floor that the owner wasn't there, that he'd gone to his father's funeral and that he'd be back later that evening but that he didn't know when. The boy himself was going to leave us at around 6 and we could have dinner at... more

We booked this hotel as a treat after reading the superb feedback on trip advisor. The owner of this hotel cancelled our booking a day before we were due to go and 2 weeks after we booked. He did not have the courtesy to tell us himself, the first I knew about it was when the owner of a nearby... more

Wonderful warm welcome from a charming host, Roger. We were made to feel very welcome as Roger gave us a tour of the house. We were delighted with the stunning location of Rowleth End and the cleanliness of the rooms. From our bedroom window there was a wondrous view of the Swalesdale countryside. Before dinner we were invited into the small... more

We have just returned from spending three nights at Rowleth End and can honestly say we have never received a more hospitable welcome. Ever attentive to the needs of his guests, Roger is the perfect host. The rooms are stylish and very comfortable. We felt we could curl up with a book, at any time, and in any room we... more

We have just returned from a night at Rowleth End and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were greeted by Roger on arrival and shown to our room. Roger and his staff are very welcoming and can't do enough to please guests, (most refreshing these days). The rooms are fitted to an excellent standard far surpassing some large chain hotels, a... more

It's all been said, this is a treasure of a place in a wonderful location with a charming host. We ate in one night and the food was excellent home cooking. The second and third nights we ate out at an inn down the road and another night in Leyburn and both were really good too. Nothing is to much... more

Lovely house and super bedrooms. They've spent money on quality fittings especially the beds. Had a great evening meal shared with other guests around a single table. We weren't sure about this but actually had an excellent evening. We will be staying there again. There's even a trampoline in the garden if you've any energy left after a day walking... more

We were looking for a "quick getaway" for a couple of nights. Although not too far from us, the drive was well worth it. We were greeted by Roger as if we were long-lost friends and treated like this at all times. The room we stayed in (room 5) has a spa bath and amazing shower...well worth the extra! Lots... more
