We are first time visitors and were delighted by our stay at Rowleth End. Roger is a lovely guy and plays the host perfectly - warm and chatty but not too intrusive. In a truly beautiful setting with stunning views across the dale who could ask for more!. The rooms were filed with nice touches, a variety of sparkling waters... More

We have stayed at Rowleth End three times now and every time has been lovely. Roger is such a great host with both adults and children and very pleasant company. He thinks of all your needs before they even arises. (Which is lucky for my husband who keeps forgetting to pack his toothbrush!) Breakfast is excellent despite being served as... More

My husband booked this guest house as a 2 night treat for completing cancer treatment based on the photos and the host description of the delux bedroom and especially the sumptuous bathroom When we arrived there was nowhere to park, the scruffy unkempt host was building a bar in his garage to open that night!!! He left us to find... More

There is a responsibility on both sides – for the owner to accurately describe and explain what is on offer, and for the guest to check it meets their requirements. This was definitely a failing on the second part. It was very clearly explained at the time of booking by telephone (3 days earlier) that the luxury room was already... More

This 2 day weekend visit was a present from my wife. She had read about Rowleth End in an airplane brochure and was the reason for booking here. On arrival we were met by Roger and his dog , Buster. Roger was being helped by two young Germans on a gap year. They volunteer to help at Roger's and he... More

Stunning surroundings, views and atmosphere, Rowleth End offered the ideal spot for our needs. Art deco theme and furnishings make for an unexpected and unique experience, rather like an Agatha Christie film set which was totally lovely. Roger, our host was warm, affable, and most congenial and made us feel completely at home with the setup here. What was there... More

Just returned having had three nights at Rowleth End. We had a lovely relaxing break. Roger is a lovely warm, welcoming host that just embraces you. Excellent food, with an excellent choice of wines. Good for walking by the River & around the local area. Buster loves going walkies & Charlie is just a lazy kinda cat. A cozy warm... More

Spent New Year with Roger. Fantastic 2 nights meeting new friends and walking to 'Our Hamlet - BLADES' during the day time of New Years eve. The night was spent eating 7/8 courses of home cooked delicious food (Only small portions I hasten to add) washed down with a beautiful Yorkshire Red Wine and then letting in the new year... More

We booked Rowleth End last minute on line and were intrigued by the 'quirky' description of the guest house. We were greeted warmly by Roger, shown to our room and relaxed prior to a lovely home cooked meal. The room was very comfortable, well presented and had a beautiful dual aspect view. We enjoyed meeting other guests in the bar... More

Miscalculation on our part to stop here after Keld on C2C rather than go on to Reeth as journey to Rowleth End was too short and left us 2 - 3 miles to make up the next day Very quiet B&B so we were only guests at dinner which was a bit strained Nice room - very clean and well... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Are you weary of stress and hectic living, and need to breathe new energy into body and soul? Then Rowleth End is for you. Hospitality at its best; on weekends, more a house party than a hotel or guest house. Its five guest bedrooms are individually styled with quality beds and period furniture. The evening menus feature the very best of local produce. Log fires; local real ales at the bar. Relax in style and comfort, yet with plenty of informality. ... more   less
