Wonderful views. Lovely double-windowed bed-room overlooking the picturesque large village green of Reeth. Superb breakfasts with fresh fruit salad and a large variety of cooked and cold foods. Attentive staff and a watchful owner who made sure everything was perfect. The Yorkshire Dales are beautiful. We booked this Hotel after reading the good reviews on trip-advisor and were certainly not... more

We (husband, dog and myself) stayed here for the weekend for a relaxing break "away from it all". The hotel is beautifully situated overlooking the village green in an ideal part of the Dales, not too far off the beaten track but far enough. All the rooms (bedrooms and public rooms) are lovely and very tastefully decorated. The food and... more

The setting is wonderful; at the head of a village green in a picturesque Yorkshire village. Service was excellent. However: the room was overpriced at £117 per night for a small room with en suite across the corridor and "Ikea" pine furniture. This was a discounted rate for 2 nights ; for a single night the price is £127.Other rooms... more

A lovely and relaxing hotel, with a lot of character, located in a beautiful spot. Derek, the owner, made us very welcome and went to great lengths to make sure that we were happy with everything. The rest of the staff were also excellent. The room was quiet and very comfortable, outlooking the village green, and the dining experiences were... more

We had a fabulous stay at the Burgoyne for three nights in July. It is a lovely hotel with the most amazing views across the Dales. The best part of the experience though was the helpful, caring owner, Derrick. He made us feel very welcome. Our room was lovely and it was ensuite--other rooms in the hotel have private bathrooms... more

Having stayed at many world Famous Hotels such as Raffles Le Royal in Cambodia and Raffles Plaza (now Fairmont) in Singapore and Marco Polo Hotel in Hong Kong this hotel rates as one of the best in the world. It may not be in the same league as those descibed for size and location but it is the ambience that... more

We thought we would splash out and have the suite for our 3 day stay. Whilst we enjoyed ourselves there was not enough hot water for 2 people to have separate baths. When mentioned to the owner he was uninterested and said 'never had that complaint before' - proper Yorkshire!! (He could have offered us the use of another bathroom... more

We spent three nights in this remarkable small hotel, a luxury retreat in otherwise rather dull Reeth and in the heart of Swaledale, a walker’s paradise. We hope to return. There are nine rooms, almost all overlooking the central green. The hotel is a conversion, with inevitable compromises e.g. room size varies and not all the private bathrooms are ‘ensuite’.... more

We 2 (middle aged, British, married -how dull!) support all the good things said by others. A long weekend.Everything exactly as it should be, 2 inventive and delicious dinners, spotless and comfortable room, quite adequate wine list, and owner and staff all had that lovely balance of efficiency with friendliness that you always hope to find. Quite a special place. more

This hotel is beautiful, situated in the picturesque Yorkshire Dales. The whole hotel is beautifully decorated. Our room was delightful, with gorgeous views of the Yorkshire Dales. The room was exceptionally clean. The food is just fantastic! Absolutely mouthwatering, and well worth £31 for a four course meal. Derek, the hotel owner, was charming and friendly. A true gentleman, and... more
