We have just enjoyed a family get together of 11 people to celebrate the Golden Wedding of my parents. We booked accommodation for them in the Wordsworth Suite; a luxurious room on the first floor with very large windows, elaborate drapes and superb views of the countryside. We booked the private Wedgwood Dining Room for dinner This room was beautifully... more

Returned for our fifth consecutive Easter break. As always made very welcome by Ann and David. Hotel is approached by an outstanding, tree lined drive with squirrels, rabbits and cattle. Greeted warmly at Reception and shown to Wordsworth Suite by welcoming and courteous member of staff. Suite as usual a joy to stay in; with glorious views over the Yorkshire... more

Our party which included elderly parents had a wonderful stay at this lovely county hotel for Easter. The rooms are individually decorated in the period in which it was built. It retains a charming historic character while at the same time meeting the expectations of todays traveller who appreciates these values. The owners are extremely hospitable to guests and we... more

Approached along a tree lined drive Hartforth was welcoming before we even left the car. Inside we were met by Anne who gave us a brief tour before showing us to our room - the Wordsworth - a huge luxurious room with magnificent views over stunning scenery and Holly the pony in the paddock. Every comfort was here, setee and... more

Great three day trip, the barman/owner was'nt as some say rude or sirly found him once getting to know him just the opposite very friendly, knowledgable and entertaining. We introduced the TV hit quiz show Millionaire to the hotel as part of the evening entertainment in the bar which was nice and friendly with a log fire. Found the hotel... more

My husband and I visited Hartforth Hall Hotel for our eighth Christmas December 2008. To us it is a Jewel in the Yorkshire Crown. It is a 17th Century Manor House set in lovely Countryside. At christmas it comes alive with log fires, and a choir comes on Christmas Eve to sing Carols around a piano with the guests, before... more

A memorable stay of 3 days was enjoyed by hubby and myself where we felt special in a house with a difference. Our host and hostess were friendly treating us like family and sharing cosy chats by a heartening log fire. Service was excellent with friendly efficiency in charming setting of past grandeur...we felt of another more relaxed age and... more

This was the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. The owners are trading on past glory and the hotel has fallen to the bottom of the pile. The owners/management were surly and full of their own importance and forgot who was paying the bill. The plumbing is third world standard. The sound proofing nonexistent – we could hear the... more
