I stayed here for 2 nights and would definitely return again. I found the staff very pleasant from the moment I checked in until the moment I checked out. The room was fine, a little hot during the night and as my window was close to a fire escape I didn't risk leaving it open, not there was probably any... more

We stayed for three days as Solberge Hall is the nearest we could find to the Hospital in Northallerton where we were visiting a patient. The service was better than we expected-our bags were taken to the room for us and tea offered (and accepted). The bathroom could do with a good plumber to sort out problems with the hot... more

If booking from the web site, then your expectaions will be pitched much higher than this hotel can currently deliver. There was noting inherently wrong during our stay; the room was clean and quiet, and there was hot water in the morning; my basic tenents for an acceptable hotel. We were travelling with our dog and the staff were happy... more

After looking at many locations to hold a small wedding, we finally settled on Solberge Hall and we were not disappointed. The ceremony in the Garden Room was magical and more than we could have hoped. The wedding breakfast was held in the Drawing Room with our guests all seated round one large oval table. The hotel dressed both rooms... more

Before i entered the hotel i thought that the building had a lot of character as it looked quite impressive with a marvellous large garden. However it may have looked great from the outside but everything was absoloutley not great inside, the old term of "do not judge a book by its cover" most definately applies to this hotel. I... more

Stayed for 5 nights on business. Chose this hotel because it was apparently one of the nicer ones in the area. I had to ask to change rooms 4 times for various reasons - no hot water in the first, no tap (yes, you read that right - no TAP) in the second, an unusable bed in the 3rd and... more

I have stayed in the Solberge on a couple of occasions, the first I arrived so late all I did was check in and go to bed so nothing of any great consequence to report. This time however I arrived in sufficient time to fully savour the delights of the Solberge. Overall the property is an imposing stately home set... more

The food was superb, the staff friendly, helpful but unobtrusive, and the room large and comfortable (I've had smaller bedrooms in London than our bathroom at Solberge!). We could not believe how reasonable the rate was, especially for food of that quality. It was also a quiet, pleasant setting - yet not far to get to the Moors and the... more

We stayed here for one night only but what a great find! Front desk staff were pleasant, caring and efficient. Restaurant staff were equally good. The rooms were first class - spacious with all the usual extras including tea- and coffee-making facilities, biscuits, bottled water. Everything was well-maintained although the showers could be better. Ours had four-poster beds, good ones... more

A superb hotel in a great location. Staff really good, food and service in The Silk brasserie absolutely wonderful. Some refurbishment due in the main building but this does not detract from a really great place to stay. Absolutely love it. more
