The website for this hotel should not be believed. The room we were given was not clean, dust and dirt everywhere. The bathroom was one of the worst I have ever seen. Stains and hair, mouldy shower curtain to mention a few. One hotel we will never return too. more

The Golden Lion is the only decent sized hotel within the town, the Allerton Court is rather out of the centre and a bit "Travel Lodge". The Golden Lion is like the old coaching inns of the past, and I have to say the food and choice is equally traditional. The hotel is very well patronised, especially on market days.... more

Our room smelt bad. I assume that this was because it used to be a smoking room. But it smelt horrible really musty. We did open the window - but the noise from outside was too piercing to cope with (someone drilling metal I think? - there is a workshop of some sort below the hotel). The decor was dated.... more

This hotel is situated on the High Street in Northallerton, and is what could be best described as a pub with rooms. There is parking on the High Street directly outside the hotel, but this is restricted during the daytime, and more long term parking can be found to the rear of the hotel.
