Our first room was so hot we could not stay in it and when we told the manager he admitted that the radiator was permanently on! He gave another room which was better but only had one towel. Dinner was just about OK but the cooked breakfast was completely cold and inedible. The staff were pleasant but seemed completely untrained... more

We recently stayed at Monk Fryston Hall Hotel for my son's wedding. As we are not from Yorkshire we travelled up on the Thursday before the wedding. Arriving at the hotel we were met by a very pleasent man on reception and given the keys of our room. We had been upgraded to a superior room which was very good.... more

We stayed for 3 nights on business and the staff and the service they provided were excellent. Everyone was very friendly and all made conversation with you. The food was wonderful, we stayed on a 3 night special deal with DB&B. Rooms were lovely and spotless. We cannot wait to go back. more

This is the second time I've stayyed at Monk Fryston - the first time was a 'romantic' weekend when we paid extra for the best room....ideal. This time was for a wedding, whilst it's a great venue the standard rooms are WELL overpriced - £110 for a room with a bathroom that a bodging DIY'er would have been embarssed at... more

Having had many enjoyable Sunday lunches at Monk Fryston Hall I thought it would be a great place to have my 40th birthday. I rang the hotel in May 2008 to ask if the Haddon Room was available (this is a very atmospheric room with a huge fireplace and seating for up to 64 guests). Right from the start the... more

We stayed one night at the hotel for my brothers wedding. The wedding itself was lovely and brilliantly organised by all the staff. The grounds are beautiful and perfect for photographs. The building was a monastery in the 1800's (I think) and they have kept the public rooms (front hall, lobby bar) decorated in this historical style. The bedrooms were... more

Chose from the AA.com website. I was offered a DBB rate for one night, which was most welcome as the majority of hotels don't entertain this. A very friendly welcome, and an excellent evening meal. The only downside was in general the hotel needs freshening up as most areas, including the bedroom, looked tired. Whilst the hotel temperature was comfortable,... more

I got married at Monk Fryston Hall on 26 May 2007 and the day was perfect! The grounds are so picturesque which made for some excellent wedding photo's and the staff were first class! We didnt have to think about a thing on the day - the staff made everything run so smoothly. Even at the pre-wedding meeting, going through... more
