This is a nice place to stay. Two dog friendly rooms off courtyard. Dogs well catered for. Room spacious. Breakfast delicious but rather disjointed - hot coffee rather cold by time warm milk arrived. Generally service at breakfast was a bit slow but worth the wait. More

I stayed here for the Bradford Small Animal Show in 2011. The owners were friendly and helpful, and cooked amazing breakfasts! I was in the annex with my animals which was perfect and saved me carrying cages through the hotel or upstairs. I have been recommending Newton House to other exhibitors for the 2012 show! More

Have stayed at Newton House three times for overnight breaks on trips to and from Glasgow/London. It's exactly halfway and very close to the A1 so perfect for exhausted drivers! We always have our dog with us and Newton House has several dog-friendly rooms and a welcoming attitude. We stayed in a spacious courtyard room, with huge bed, plenty of... More

We booked out all of the rooms at Newton House at the beginning of August 2011 for our guests when we got married at Allerton Castle and both our guests and ourselves were extremely impressed. Denise and the team were extremely welcoming and always helpful. The rooms were beautifully decorated and the breakfast was very well presented and tasted fantastic.... More

Stayed for a weekend with my Mother, sister, daughter and niece at the end of October, we wanted to stay in York but couldn't find anyway suitable. Had 2 interconnecting rooms, which was perfect. The rooms were delightful and extremely comfortable. The mini bar was very well stocked!! Denise couldn't have been more helpful and the breakfasts were wonderful. They... More

I stayed here in September 2011. I was the bridesmaid for my friend who was getting married at a church in Knaresborough and then having her reception at Allerton castle. The wedding party practicaly took over the guest house! Myself and another of the bridesmaids stayed in a room that interconnected with the room the bride and her sister were... More

Just enjoyed a weekend break at Newton House and what a lovely experience it was. Denise met us as we arrived and was very friendly. She gave us some excellent advise about the local choices for evening meal. The room was first class and the breakfast had a very varied choice. The produce used was top quality and cooked to... We were visiting Knaresborough for a Mary Coughlan concert at the Frazer Theatre, and although we only live just over an hour away we decided to stay overnight, and chose Newton House. Denise, the manager, welcomed us, and was very helpful advising on possible places to eat before the concert. We had room 12 , which was ground floor at... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a room at the front of the hotel whilst our travelling companions had a room at the rear. Slight road noise at the front but didn't cause any problems. Rooms, as previously mentioned are large, spacious, well equipped and comfortable. Breakfasts in the morning were terrific, particularly the baked fruits. The staff... More
