My wife & I stayed here at Halloween & enjoyed it so much we stayed another night. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet considering it is such a central location. There was a good selection of toiletries & tea/coffee facilities in room and beds are very comfortable. There are pictures in the bar of the huge refurbishment due early... More

My wife & I stayed here for a short mid-week break. I must say this charming Pub / b&b is a little gem. Located in the heart of the historic market town of Knaresborough. Overlooking the market place with its quaint & quirky shops, pubs & cafés. The double room was deceptively spacious & tastefully decorated to an excellent standard. Prices... More

The Groves kitchen is now up and running again after a technical issue meant the new superb landlord and lady could not offer the food and breakfasts they wanted to after taking over recently. Sunday was the first of many fantastic meals to be had here. For only £7.95 the plates groaned under a vast array of fresh veg and... More

New proprietor, who wouldn't offer breakfast because he didn't like the look of the kitchens. I hope he gets a hold on things soon! In our room, the sheets and towels were clean but there was toothpaste on the tap and the shampoo was half-used. The bed was large and comfortable, the room a bit small and a LONG way... More

We stayed at the Groves Hotel for two nights last weekend for a family wedding. Our stay didn't get off to the best start - we weren't able to get in touch with the hotel as it had recently changed ownership and had to phone the Knaresborough Tourist Information to find out what was going on with the hotel. Once... More

Thank-you for your review, customers thoughts are always welcomed. Apologies once again for the confusion RE: the phone number. During the changeover the phone number was changed to a new one- we are in the process of trying to change this back. ( For future reference, until this matter is rectified we can be contacted on: 01423 861148) We did... More

Please note the hotel has undergone a change of ownership so I struggled to get hold of them to confirm my booking as the phone number had changed. Great location right in the centre of the lovely town of Knaresborough. I first walked in the pub on a sat afternoon and wasn't sure how good it would be, as the... More

We stayed for two nights, just as the new owners were taking over. Bedroom was very comfortable and well equipped, but it could do with a little TLC,paint peeling in the bathroom and a small amount of black mould around the bath and sink . The breakfast was very good and the lady who took our order was first class,but... More

Thank-you very much for your comments, we always welcome our guests thoughts on their stay. As you came in on hand-over day I cannot personnally comment on the condition of the rooms as they were already set up for that nights guests. I can assure you that this does not meet our standards and that the mould mentioned is no... More

At this pub for The Tour de France .The owner was lovely ,and very friendly.Breakfast was well cooked and plentiful. Our room had the usual bathroom soap and gels ,and the best supply of tea bags, coffee, and milk we have ever had . We had a great nights sleep as the bed is huge and very comfortable ,and we... Stayed 1 night in June and found the room very comfortable and clean. We had a room at the rear of which was quiet. Great location for exploring Knaresborough and surrounding area. Nice breakfast and frienldy hospitality so i would recommend a stay here either on business or leisure.
