Ideally situated by Knaresborugh station the Mitre Inn offers real ale and food and accommodation. The pub/restaurant welcomes families although there were far too many young children inside for our liking on a Saturday afternoon. The accommodation was ideal for what we wanted and the breakfast in the morning was cooked to order.

Only stayed here for the night as was having a day out in Knalresborough but have to say this is an absolute gem of a place. Well decorated and modern room and a great choice of ales. Ended the night in the bar watching a live band. Great atmosphere. Following day breakfast was served in a lovely basement style restaurant.... More

We stayed a couple of mid-week nights at The Mitre and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious, clean and well-equipped. The bed was a tad uncomfortable, maybe just needed a mattress turn, but nothing to have a serious moan about. The bar was closing at 11 so after 12 the place was very quiet. It's right next to... Had lunch in the beer garden on a glorious sunny day. Roast pork, stuffing and apple sauce in a toasted ciabatta with gravy and chips - a huge feed for a 'sandwich' and good value at around £5.50. Very tasty too. We gave up trying to eat healthily in Yorkshire so just embraced the stodge (I mean that in a... More

We held our after wedding party at The Mitre and what can I say, they were brilliant. The food was gorgeous, everyone commented how superb it was, the staff looked after us just perfectly and everyone had a great time. The service for such a large party was spot on and all in all it's want made for a great... More

We stayed at The Mitre Inn as part of a 40th birthday weekend surprise for our friend. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel at home. Matt was great, when we explained we were there to surprise our friend as part of her birthday celebrations, he kept our secret for us so as not to spoil the... More

Hotel was lovely, room spacious, bed comfy and nice big bathroom. We thought being next to train station it would be noisy but it was fine. The staff let us park car right outside hotel. Good choice of breakfast too. Knaresborough is a lovely place and we visited the caves, strolled along the river, walked about the town's shops, pubs... More

Myself and a couple of friends were in Knaresborough for the afternoon, and thought we would try this pub for a late lunch. I must say this had excellent food, beer and atmosphere. The staff were very attentive, and nice. We worth it if you are in Knaresborough. I recommend the Steak and Ale pie. :-)
