Stayed there for a treat. Found the room to be very smelly and very small. The furnishing within the room meant it was like stepping back in time. I would not recommend this to anyone. Stay at Gisborough Hall it shows this place up for what it is RUBBISH more

Oct 2008 - Stayed over on a Sunday (2 night min for Saturday night, we were informed), the house is stunning, very impressive to behold on arrival. There where plenty of people in at the restaurant when we arrived, but the friendly reception staff checked us in quickly. Small decanter of sherry in the room was a nice touch, as... more

Stayed at this hotel in July 2008 to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. From the moment we arrived we were treated with first class service. ALL the staff were very helpful and friendly. The room itself was exceptionally clean, cosy and welcoming. We got a room to the front of the hotel which had great views and the 4 poster... more

Stayed here for one night. The staff were amazingly friendly, the room beautiful, the four poster bed excellent. I really loved this place and wished could have stayed longer. The food was also fantastic. Cannot think of one thing that wasn't amazing. more

Way too expensive for what you get. Box of chocolates included.. Yeah right! TWO chocs in a box what a rip off! Staff were arrogant and rude. Room was a let down. Worlds smallest double bed, bathroom smelt and is in serious need of modernisation, free tea and coffee but no milk! Breakfast included was a let down. Very small... more

We stayed here for my cousin's wedding, which was being held in the courtyard suite at the hotel. We baulked a little at the price of the room (nearly £200 for one night!!!) but felt it made sense as we have two young children and needed a base to retire to during the wedding festivities if need be. Our room... more

Got married at this hotel. Small wedding - only 25 of us in total - got married in the restaurant area with reception in conservatory. Good points - on the day staff were very good, service was excellent, superb surroundings, food very good, rooms beautiful and clean. Weak points - rooms expensive with mimimal reduction in rate even though they... more

I went on a work do and had one overnight stay, it was absolutely fabulous, the food was lovely as were the restaurant staff. We were welcomed by a very pleasant young lady who showed us to our beautiful room which was extremely clean including the bathroom. I would definately recommend this hotel and if ever in Yarm again I... more

We stayed here for a weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel has a very peaceful atmosphere, set in beautiful grounds. You feel as if you are a house guest in a large mansion and are treated like one. (I have never come across such excellent staff.) It used to be Kirklevington Hall and is a listed building. There is... more

Went for a big family wedding and stayed over. Enjoyed the 'do' and my room had some nice little touches: sherry, boardgames etc. VERY expensive -- no make that exorbitant -- bar prices and poor service in the restaurant the following morning. Would stay again but only if I wasn't paying more
