Visited Hawes for a birthday weekend and stayed at Thorney Mire. It's a couple miles outside town, but well worth the stay. The house is a beautiful barn conversion with spacious rooms and luxurious baths. Jane and Simon are delightful and more than willing to help out with directions, where to visit etc. Easily one of the nicest B&B's I've... More

Our second time to Thorney Mire Barn! A truly magical place, made even better by the lovely Jane and Simon. From the elegant, comfortable and tastefully furnished bedroom to the locally sourced and truly delicious breakfast, everything was perfect! We very much look forward to returning a third time. Thank you!

What a find! Beautiful setting, superb hospitality, comfortable rooms and food that is superb. The breakfast includes home made muesli, fresh fruit salad, a fantastic cooked breakfast followed by three types of home made bread and jams and marmalade. We opted for a three course meal in our room having been really disappointed by the Hawes pub we ate in... More

We stayed 2 days and 2 nights at Thorney Mire Barn in May 2014, and enjoyed every minute of both this B&B and also the Yorkshire Dales. Our hosts Jane and Simon were very helpful in every way, their recommendations were excellent for activities and food, and they were very enjoyable to talk with. Thorney Mire Barn is in a... More

Jane and Simon did everything they could to make us feel welcome and to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We stayed in the Longford room on the first floor and were welcomed with a pot of tea and home made cakes. The room was well appointed, with a fridge containing fresh milk, chilled water and cordial and beautiful... More

We spent four nights here as part of my 40th birthday celebrations and got off to a lovely start with tea and cake on arrival. The rooms are smartly decorated and Jane and Simon have obviously paid attention to detail to make your stay feel a bit special, with bath robes, fresh flowers, chocolates and Moulton Brown products. We stayed... More

We cannot say how lovely this place is. From the moment we arrived we were treated so well. Jane and Simon cannot do enough for you and nothing is too much trouble for them. The room is spotless with fresh flowers changed every day and the Molton Brown and bath products topped up everyday. The meal in the room and... More

We really enjoyed our stay here. The Garden Room is a good size and has a very comfortable bed to sleep in. Breakfast was a real treat and the food fantastic. We also had our evening meal here and again the food was very enjoyable. Jane and Simon were attentive but discreet hosts, on hand when needed but not intrusive.... More

We recently had another brilliant stay at Thorney Mire Barn - our fourth visit. We usually stay in Whatcroft but this time we were in the Garden Room - every bit as good with the added attraction of patio doors out into the private garden area. As usual breakfasts and suppers excellent - shame it was the last plum jam... More
