I stayed whilst cycling through Yorkshire and at first site everything was fine. The bar was pretty busy and a nice open fire was burning so the atmosphere was good. The staff were friendly and the beer was nice. Unfortunately over the course of the evening I started to notice no-one seemed to care. We tried to book in and... More

just spent a great music weekend here.beautiful part of the world.food and accomodation very good and a great base for walking. Hawes is very picturesque and only a mile or so away across fields.unfortunately it proved impossible to get to the bar owing to shortage of staff , so a fairly sober time..probably a blessing in disguise as the bar... We booked here to stay for two nights in order to explore the dales. It is a great base and the double room was very spacious and comfortable. The pub is very cosy and was like stepping back in time. It has an added attraction of having a waterfall in the back accessed through a lovely garden with the stream... More

I first visited the Green Dragon in February 2012 and had a great time and this year went with a group of friends. We knew there was going to be a sing-a-long but what we never expected was the whole place to be infested with amateur 'musicians' who would have never made it past the audition stage in a reality... This is a unique pub, very picturesk, authentic, and a stunning location, but be prepared to pay for it and don't expect a good or even a nice service. Was told to come back later to order breakfast then was told they were sold out and could only have sandwiches which were expensive £4.25 and were dry and tasted terrible... More

Stopped to visit the waterfall and have a meal at the pub and were not disappointed with either. Pub was very dog friendly, pub was very busy when we arrived but after visiting the waterfall the pub had got quieter and after getting a table and ordering at the bar our food arrived promptly and we had a lovely meal.

Recently stayed here with friends over the weekend. Staff are great and very helpful and the food and beer/ales available are all brilliant. The water fall round the back is definitely worth a look. We will definitely be going back.

This is a very old pub with parts dating from the 13th century. We called in for a meal and enjoyed good company, good pub food and a warm fire. Just what an English country pub should be like. A nice friendly place

We had visited the waterfall earlier in the day. Decided to come back to the pub for dinner. We walked along the Pennine way path through the sheep. A roaring fire welcomed us. We chose a table in the far room which was a bit away from the fire to prevent over heating. Beer was good. Food acceptable, good pub... More
