A very comfortable weekend staying in a characterful room, furnished in keeping with the period of the house. Lovely views over the valley and conveniently located for many well known destinations in the Yorkshire Dales. If you are looking for a hotel with some individuality, then this could be the one for you.

My husband made a reservation at Simonstone Hall for us for the night of my birthday which included dinner, bed and breakfast . When we arrived there was a Garden Party taking place at the hotel which meant it was very busy everywhere. The Reception Desk was unattended, but there was a note saying if no one was on the... Attractive hotel, lovely setting with views over the farmland of Wensleydale. Nice room with little touches such as baskets for boots. The hotel has a large outdoor garden seating area which is ideal for sitting in the sun / reading papers / having a drink etc. Location wise, it's ideal for exploring the Dales. But now onto the changes.......... which... More

One of our sons was married at Simonstone Hall in 2014 and we had Sunday Lunch there also. Now I am intolerant to wheat and yeast extract , eating out is not easy. We called in to ask if I could be served anything. The chef came out of the kitchen at the height of the Sunday buffet and said... More

Stayed here on a Sunday evening. Beautiful room and was well appointed. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed (which surprised me, as the hotel was full) so we had no option but to eat from the bar menu. The fish starter was superb, we asked for bread to accompany it & soda bread arrived. Unfortunately we didn't like it as we... More

Welcoming helpful staff, a brilliant new chef and innovative well presented seasonal menu, only let down are the tired bedrooms and dated bathrooms, these I was told are due for refurbishment soon. Look forward to returning when the revamp has taken place. Amazing building a the views from the back of the hotel are wonderful.

We recently had our wedding at Simonstone and we really couldn't have asked for a better venue. The views are simply stunning and the hotel is beautiful and full of character. The food was fantastic (loved the panna cotta) and the staff were great, friendly and always helpful. Particular thanks going to Emma and resident DJ extraordinaire Wilko for making... More

We arrived on the off chance for lunch were given a table in the bar which had seen better days. We have been here for lunch for a long time this was the worst yet. Cold potatoes, ham it wasn't, fat and gristle .Cauliflower cheese tasted sour. We don't mind paying for a decent carvery. but this meal doesn't warrant... More

Perfect Hotel, perfect staff perfect setting for this hotel. Ideal walking area and in close proximity to Hawes and the surrounding areas. The room was beautiful with amazing views, well looked after by excellent staff. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. And now can scratch off my bucket list. But then maybe not, will just add... More

We decided to treat ourselves to a stay here rather than in an £80 B&B. Including a rather excessive £25/stay dog charge, the room was £170 for a "Dales Double". There were plenty of things done well - the views are lovely, the room was pleasant and clean, the chap who checked us in, carried our luggage up and served... More
