Just returned from a very nice 3 night break to the Dales. Stayed at the Old Board Inn in Hawes. Nice people, great ales and great food. A visit to the Wensleydale Cheese Factory is a must. Recommended. We will certainly return.

On arrival we were welcomed and shown our room, we had paid extra for the larger forward facing room No2 which is directly above the bar. It was noisy with the music but we knew this prior to booking and it didn't bother us. The room was spacious, clean and tidy with a sofa bed for sitting on. The room... More

We stayed in October because we wanted to walk in the area. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, they were outstanding! The room was spotless and spacious and the meals were home cooked using fresh produce. There is a great selections of beer and wine and a roaring log fire. What more could you ask for! We booked... We stayed here for one night and the hotel bedrooms were very clean and spacious. They had a good selection of real ales and they had a good choice of food and the prices were very good. The breakfasts were of good quality with plenty of extra toast and drinks if required. The staff were very helpful and friendly throughout... More

We stopped in this pub for a birthday meal. The staff were welcoming and really friendly, the pub was lovely and warm with an open fire and lovely atmosphere. We ordered starters and mains ( we would have opted for the desserts too, but we were stuffed!) Portions were huge and food was lovely and fresh! Both food and drink... More

We called in for my husband's birthday. There were 6 of us and sat in the main bar. Food was excellent and good portion sizes. Food was cooked from fresh. The landlady was so welcoming as was the chef. Lovely log fire to keep us warm. We shall be returning. Recommended by all.

We stayed here one night after walking in nearby Wharfedale, very good meals and a good selection of drinks to sample! Our room was above the bar, which being a Saturday night, got loud and busy, so not conducive for a good night's sleep, but to be fair, the girl behind the bar did inform us that the jukebox was... A great place to stay, our room was huge, excellent value for money located right on the high street, perfect for people watching! The staff were so warm and welcoming and the breakfast is epic with plenty available for vegetarians and in the cosy 'snug' part of the Inn downstairs. Perfect location for walking the Dales with your dogs :)

This is the third hotel we have stayed in with the dog, in Hawes,This one was the most friendly. the rooms are a bit old fashioned but it was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good though a little large (I had the pancakes) but overall it was very good. We will be back

We did not stay as residents but we did go in the pub and had a brilliant time there. It has an excellent juke box. The bar staff are funny, friendly and welcoming. The beer is very reaspnably priced at £6.20 for a round as opposed to a pound dearer elsewhere. I look forward to our next visit/
