A dip in the pool after arrival, followed by a few glasses of wine by the roaring log fire in the newly decorated lounge, before a few more drinks in the bar, and a first class three course meal in the restaurant. The staff, service and accommodation were excellent, although the rooms could do with thermostats, as we awoke in... More

Stayed for a Saturday night as a treat - we had the Harland and Blakey rooms overlooking the duck pond and they were both lovely. The complimentary sloe gin was much appreciated! We adored the comfortable lounge with open fire and cosy bar area with woodburner and thoroughly enjoyed spending time in these rooms before and after dinner. We ate... More

Having been here every year for a festive night away with family, we returned again this year and it was better than ever. The rooms are beautifully decorated with a small free bottle of sloe gin, a goody basket of treats to purchase and free fruit in a bowl. Cowshed toiletries are in the en suite and smell divine. A... We had our wedding here on the 19th December, it could not have being more perfect, Jaquie the owner was so friendly and helpful in every way. We don't live local so she gave us many useful contacts and was always happy to help. The other staff in the hotel we're great and could not have done enough for us.... More

We had an overnight here with friends. The hotel were very obliging, allowing us an early check-in and a relatively late lunch of a big platter of delicious assorted sandwiches with a couple of salads. The public rooms are cosy and quirky with roaring fires and lots of interesting bits and pieces. We had a four poster room and a... More

My husband booked us a one night stay between Christmas and new year to celebrate our anniversary. Having stayed here before and also visited for afternoon tea, I was very much looking forward to our stay. I came away feeling disappointed. We had a ground floor room next to reception, which although well appointed, was noisy and felt overlooked. The... More

We have visited for lunch a few times and decided to hold our wedding here in the middle of winter. The venue, for a smallish, intimate wedding was perfect and generally commented on by most of our guests. The staff were attentive and took as much stress away as possible and the food was brilliant. The rooms are all lovely... More

Three old friends and their wives met here for Christmas as all their children were "playing away", We had hoped for an hotel well run and closely supervised by the owner in a family atmosphere. Sadly this was not the case despite the best efforts of the polish supervising barman. there were many good points, the room, though the house... More

What a gorgeous hotel, I just want to live there! Beautiful countryside and beautiful hotel. My friend and I went for a wreath making workshop, warm welcome, a snug area that you never wanted to leave. Very helpful staff, a lovely 3 three course lunch in a very tasteful, warm and cosy restaurant. They staff could not do enough for... More

Having worked none stop for over a month 7/7. I decided to surprise the family one early Fri afternoon with a surprise 24 hr adventure. I called a number of hotel in the area and The Pheasant hotel offered a great reassurance when calling (given I'd not been before). I booked a wonderful family cottage and within 90mins had the...
