This hotel is a great find. The approach belies the reality as once inside everything seemed faultless. A smiling welcome from Bestek, who accompanied us to the room which was generously appointed. The restaurant served up great food at Dinner and Breakfast. The staff were there when needed but not overbearing. A very good location when travelling up or down... More

We stayed here as the result of a promotional offer, for dinner B&B at a decent rate. When we arrived and had a look at the menu we decided that we would upgrade ourselves to the full a la carte dinner, which was delicious with generous sized portions. The room we stayed in was spotlessly clean, well appointed, and comfortable.... More

Stayed here for the night after a wedding. We met friends in the restaurant for lunch which was pleasant and the staff were helpful as we got there before they really opened so thanks for letting us have the teas and coffees! Stayed overnight in a very nice room, clean and comfortable. Had breakfast the next day and I must... More

Our last stop-over on our holiday in the Highlands, heading home to Kent, this is conveniently situated for the A1M. A warm welcome in reception, immaculate but atmospheric decor in an individual hotel. Dinner was superb, fine dining at its best, I shall never know how I had room for a cooked breakfast as well! The only downside was our... More

We did not stay but held a dinner party for friends in the restaurant. The welcome and the service were faultless and the food and choice excellent. All the staff we met were charming and helpful and added to the pleasure of our meal.

We enjoyed our stay at The General Tarleton, it is a country Inn furnished to a very high standard, food is first class but a little on the expensive side, staff all 100%. the only small problem is that we were in room 7, as mentioned before furnished to a very high standard but, unfortunately, delivery lorries started to arrive... We only stayed one night as a stop over as we were travelling from the south up to Scotland and will certainly stay here again next time we are passing. Our bedroom was extremely comfortable and couldn't be faulted. There were even home made biscuits. Even though it was Saturday night and the restaurant was full, the service was excellent.... More

I love staying at this Inn. The rooms are small but tastefully decorated. The bathrooms are well equipped and modern. But the ace in hand is the fantastic restaurant. The staff are attentive and the wine waiter is very knowledgeable. The food is fantastic and reasonably priced. Even the breakfast is something to look forward too. Would recommend that if... More
