People who give this place a bad review have totally missed the irony and style of the place. its like comparing a new build house to a quirky old house. It has charm, character and the restaurant food is stunning. Fresh, quality French inspired produce in a quirky atmosphere and subtle Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald and Billy Holliday playing quietly in... more

Before i go on, i you like uniformity and expect 5 star treatment and finish, you may be disappointed. There isn't a stand up shower in most rooms, there may be nescafe instant and earl grey tea, and it is not cheap, but it really doesn't bother us. Crab Manor is different, full of oddities, and stuff! It is quiet,... more

Having booked the Waldorf Astoria for our 30th Wedding anniversary we arrived with great expectations but were dispondent with the dawdy decor of the room, it needs revamping, Wardrobe door damaged, not enough space for toiletries in bathroom, Had a fantastic meal in the restaurant, and excellent service from the staff, certainly needs upgrading in relation to disabled facilities (... more

Hi - I have just returned from a 1 night stay at Crab Manor with my husband and a friend and we all loved it. We had the Mount Nelson room which is Africa themed and my friend had the Turnberry- see the photos. Both rooms were clean and well equipped and I just loved the different themes - I... more

we had a our wedding reception at the crab manor in june. It was everything we had hoped for and so much more. From the moment we first visited until the day after our big day, the staff were amazing, from recommending music to taking a guest to hospital during our reception, they couldnt do enough for us. The food... more

Reception was ok not particularly friendly. The room looked rustic, cracking floors, very old furniture. Very expensive for what they offered. more

Booked this hotel in Oct 2007 for a one night stay in May 2009 - it was a surprise gift for my husband's 50th birthday and I booked early to get the Bora Bora suite. Loved the suite and the private hot tub (even though it was the hottest weekend of the year and a cool pool would have been... more

After following some very poor directions from AA routefinder we arrived at Crab Manor. On arrival (check in from 3pm) the receptionist was extremely pleasant as was the gentleman who carried our suitcase to our room. We stayed in Bora Bora, which isnt actually in the main hotel it is a very short walk through the hotel gardens & right... more
