This pub is ok. It's very expensive to stay in, the rooms are of a good quality but small and only have showers. You can find much much better for a cheaper price. The bar is very small and not particularly friendly. It's really a restaurant waiting room. I was on a cycling holiday and asked if they had bike... More

Didn't stay here but booked a meal here because they had a children's menu. All the food was lovely and the Children's meals were a good portion size. The two ladies running the bar and restaurant were very friendly and helpful even though it was quite busy. Food was great and nicely presented.

Great place this to stay and dine. A friendly family run pub with a restaurant and rooms. We have stayed here 3-times and found the bed comfy and a nice feel to the place. The bar and restaurant are filled with traditional character and extremely warm and welcoming. They do short breaks 3 nights for the price of 2 at... More

This pub/restaurant was recommended to us by a local, and our family of 5 had a very good Saturday evening meal. Tasty, imaginatively-presented food (duck dish particularly good, as was wild mushroom gnocchi) - definitely superior to usual inn fare. Not a huge choice for vegetarians or a complete range of smaller portions for children, but we all enjoyed. Average... More

My partner had booked 1 night at the George and Dragon as a 60 birthday surprise. We arrived very early on the Sunday morning and asked if we could have some breakfast, which was given with no problem. The room was charming, clean and the bed was so comfortable. We ate in the restaurant on the Sunday night and the... More

We felt very welcome in this place, by staff and locals alike, which is not always the case in this part of the world. It felt like going back in time, with the traditional country pub decor and smell of a proper wood fire. The menu was surprisingly good, featuring old classics like homemade pork pie ploughmans and steak and... More

We had high hopes for our dinner here but we're very disappointed by the front of house staff (barman/landlord). We arrived to a very lukewarm/cold reception by the landlord?!/Barman. We didn't take much notice of this until my husband ordered a pint of Peroni while waiting to be seated for dinner. Unfortunately the pint did not taste right, it was... More

We popped in here for our dinner and were impressed! When we arrived we were shouted over to the bar, we hadn't booked a table but were given one straight away (we were very early in the evening) The prices were a bit ott, but the food we had was lovely. The pork was amazing, and the drinks were fairly... More

We visit this area frequently and have visited the George and Dragon on two occasions. Both times the person behind the bar gave us no welcome whatsoever . Last night we had booked in for a meal. The woman behind the bar was not happy to see us. She made no eye contact no smile, no welcome whatsoever. My husband... More

Whilst staying at a cottage in Aysgarth we ate twice at this lovely little pub which was just a short walk across the fields. Always a bonus when places will let well behaved dogs sit under the table in the bar! Delicious fish and chips and Whitby scampi. Good sized portions and value for money. Range of well kept cask...
