Stayed here with my wife and 6 yr old son for one night only but still remember how good it was. Fabulous Bar and great beer, and restaurant also very good, though not cheap. Breakfast brilliant and the owner/manager lady was very helpful, polite and accomodating. Our room was superb with views over the Dales to die for! Very clean... More

Stayed for one night on a walking holiday. Large group of us but made very welcome. All staff friendly and helpful. Pub full of lots of interesting 'curios'. Wonderful meal, better than expected. Rooms clean and well equipped, some had four poster beds. Don't expect light minimalistic rooms - this hotel has dark rooms full of curios and soft furnishings,

Visited here in March on a Living Social Deal which I had purchased for my partner for Christmas, we also had Sasha our black Labrador with us. Lovely family run pub and restaurant, welcoming and traditional, the cosy wee bar and real fire were delightful after long walks and exploring the very beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Lovely room with a big... More

We arrived we were shown to our room. Unfortunately it was the room above the kitchen. The extractor fan was going full blast and the whole room was shaking like a washing machine on spin cycle. We asked to be moved but no other room. Assured by the owner that it would go off at 8:30pm. It did otherwise we... More

The food was excellent with plenty of variety and well presented. The bar had a roaring log fire and we spent 2 relaxing evenings here. I purchased one night's B&B on the LivingSocial site before Christmas and although would have preferred a Saturday night booking, booked to go on the Friday as no Saturdays were available due to being fully booked. Arrived mid afternoon and the man behind the bar was very welcoming and took us up to our room which was room 1. Room... More

A beautiful place to stay, central for walking from the door or as a touring base for the dales and beyond, the food is first class and cooked to order, it has a homely feel about and the service was excellent. Will certainy be going back.
