Staff were polite, warm, welcoming and friendly. Room clean and comfortable with all you need, including a very comfortable bed - I slept soundly which is unusual for me when in a strange bed. Breakfasts are substantial with something to suit everyone - quality of the bacon and sausage much better than usual fare at such establishments. I had just... More

We stayed at this delightful Inn for 3 days and it was first class, the rooms were big and comfortable the food was excellent and the owners and the staff couldnt do enough for you and the walking was a bonus. I would recommend this to anyone. We look forward to going back.

My wife and I drove up to Aysgarth from Skipton through some of the most beautiful countryside I've ever seen. We were hungry and thirsty when we got there and went into the George and Dragon. The inn is a delight and the food, although expensive, was first class. I have seen similar on Tom Kerridge's TV programme and I... More

The pub is more of a food place than a beer pub. The standard is up to a top quality restaurant, the rooms are very large and roomy, with large bathroom and good quality toiletries. I would be very happy to return for an excellent meal and top quality rooms.

This hotel is located right off the main road passing through the village of Asgarth. The rooms vary hugely, so pick carefully ( or don't get fobbed off with a small one- the prices are exactly the same). The restaurant was busy, but the service was unduly slow and staff seem somewhat cold. Food was fine, but overpriced.

Stopped here after visiting Aysgarth Falls and on way to Wensleydale, had the most delicious sandwiches and enjoyed wonderful hospitality. Lovely cosy welcome and would certainly recommend. Although we just had sandwiches on this occasion the menu looked interesting and good value for money

This pub is ok. It's very expensive to stay in, the rooms are of a good quality but small and only have showers. You can find much much better for a cheaper price. The bar is very small and not particularly friendly. It's really a restaurant waiting room. I was on a cycling holiday and asked if they had bike... More

Didn't stay here but booked a meal here because they had a children's menu. All the food was lovely and the Children's meals were a good portion size. The two ladies running the bar and restaurant were very friendly and helpful even though it was quite busy. Food was great and nicely presented.

Great place this to stay and dine. A friendly family run pub with a restaurant and rooms. We have stayed here 3-times and found the bed comfy and a nice feel to the place. The bar and restaurant are filled with traditional character and extremely warm and welcoming. They do short breaks 3 nights for the price of 2 at... More

This pub/restaurant was recommended to us by a local, and our family of 5 had a very good Saturday evening meal. Tasty, imaginatively-presented food (duck dish particularly good, as was wild mushroom gnocchi) - definitely superior to usual inn fare. Not a huge choice for vegetarians or a complete range of smaller portions for children, but we all enjoyed. Average... More
