Stayed for two nights and were impressed with the quality and standard of room and general facilities. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good value and would definately stay here again. Despite the fact that it was very busy, the service was excellent.

We arrived at the George & Dragon after day 3 on the James Herriot Way. We were tired and aching and were relieved to find we could check in, despite the early hour (3.30pm). Our room was gorgeous, a real step back in time, yet with all the modern comforts you'd expect. A large double bed, tea/coffee/biscuits, a tv, and... More

fantastic! The weather was wet, windy and wild during our visit to The George and Dragon this December but no matter as the atmosphere and reception in the Inn was very calm and welcoming. The room was clean, warm and cosy and the food, served with a smile, was delicious.Colette makes wonderful porridge. We felt at home!

We have just returned from a three night stay at this friendly pub. Made to feel very welcome by owners and locals. Food excellent. Wonderful selection of local beer. Dog friendly. Wonderful open fire in the bar. We will return for sure.

Stayed here two years ago, and visited again on a very generous special offer of 2 nights B&B for both of us for £99. We had another lovely weekend. The room was warm, cosy and comfortable, the food was exceptionally good, and 4 real ales to choose from. We completed two 12 mile walks in good weather across beautiful moorland,... More

Our 12th visit to this brilliant place in Aysgarth. Spent a few days visiting with family and once again everything was excellent. Ideally situated for exploring The Yorkshire Dales. Good food, good accommodation and friendly staff all help to make this a very welcome stay.

We stayed for one night and the size of the room was nice, but the décor quite dated. Soon after we checked in the power suddenly went off in our room, so I went down the bar and the lady came back up to the room with me. She determined that it was the main trip switch going for our... More

My husband and I stumbled across this Inn a couple of years ago and promised to go back (minus the children) to spend some time there. We stayed in the room with the half four poster bed. The room was very quaint, however for the cost I did feel there were a few negatives; staining on the carpet; couldn't open... More

I booked this pub about 8 weeks prior to the dates required and found that the family room wasn't available but they accommodated us by putting up a bed in another room and allowing us to take the dog into this room which was not normally allowed. The staff here are amazingly helpful and very friendly and will go out... More
