Stayed a while back and finally managed a return. Nice clean rooms welcoming and lovely food. Personally we like 5 ' bed as minimum but other than that all comfortable. The food was so nice we booked and went back for lunch on Mother's Day . About to return for. Anniversary can't say better than that! Great little gem !

Once again my wife and I enjoyed the delightful food at the Finch. I find it hard but it was even better than last year. We started with Venison Terrain and that was lovely, then beautiful fish cakes followed by Sorbet then Delicious Turkey (not in Pastry this year far better) with all the trimmings Christmas pud with a lovely... I visited the Finch Hatton with a group of 50 and for an exceptionally reasonable price we were served with an excellent freshly cooked main course and sweet of a very high standard. The function room is modern and well decorated whilst the bar is cosy and traditional. I would go back again to sample the bar menu simply because... More

I made my first visit to this hotel for an event recently. Nice ambience and the food was good and plentiful. Staff very helpful. The main negative was the lack of lighting in the car park when we left. This is an area with relatively poor street lighting and the car park does not appear to have any lights at... More

Having recently moved to the area, the criteria for moving included having somewhere to go for lunch and where visitors could stay. The Finch Hatton Arms helped us to make the decision to move to Ewerby! Seen a few negative comments but personally we have not found evidence of dirty rooms at all. Our stay was clean, very pleasant and... More

We were very late in arriving due to an Accident en route. I phoned and warned about our lateness and to ask whether we would be able to get food. We were told that the kitchen closed at nine, but if we were there not long after they'd make sure we got something to eat. We arrived just 5 minutes... More

Had a wonderful lunch with my daughter. We both ordered the salmon and prawn salad and it was perfect also had a portion of chips to share, we were pleased we didn't order one each because it was generous. The home made warm bread slices were delicious. will certainly pay another visit. Staff were very helpful and cheerful.

Our Son booked a 2 night treat away for our 70th. (23/25.9.13) He booked us in at the Finch Hatton Arms, a Pub with Hotel amenities. We arrived at about 4pm hoping to chill out after a hectic journey. We eventually found a chef who checked our reservation but could not confirm which flat we had been allocated. He suggested we... More

Myself and 2 other guests stayed 2 nights. The hosts where very friendly and helpful. The rooms that we stayed in where clean and nicely decorated. There where adequate facilities to make drinks. N I will miss the lovely shower. We dined one night in the restaurant and I would advise to book in advance. Luckily they where able to... More

Anyone interested in the film "Out of Africa" should visit this hotel. Robert Redford took the role of The Hon. Denys Finch Hatton, but although played well, he did not portray the fact that Denys was the second son of the Earl of Winchelsea and Nottingham, educated at Eton and Oxford, a gifted man, of huge charisma. Denys was brought... More
